Day 967 of Giving Thanks

"Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself]. And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever." ~1 John 2:15-17 (Amplified Bible)

I am greatly humbled... I am thankful that I listen to the nudges and work to let go of prideful responses... often I want to shake people, but the LORD reminds me that I would be one of the ones I would like to shake on many occasion. We are all on a journey. We have to learn to respond as Christ would respond, love as He loves, live as He lived and refute the ways of the world. I am thankful for my journey which gives me insight through the journey of so many others. I am grateful that I am wrong and can be corrected; that I am misguided by the flesh and corrected by the Spirit. To God be the glory.

You are cherished, so much so, our God suffered through the flesh, experienced life here on earth; he laughed, cried, mourned, prayed and believed in the plan of salvation and died a horrendous and unthinkably painful death to show us life for us comes from the ultimate love.

It is our goal to do what God desires for our lives. When we truly live for Him, His desires are our desires – and all is well.

Let your life be guided by God's promises, not your emotions. Let your words be a testimony, not a hindrance. Use your beautiful words, they're in there, LET THEM OUT...

"Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever."~ Psalm 136:26 (New Living Translation)

Submit to the LORD... cry out to Jesus, ask for the strength and courage and persistence of the Holy Spirit. Keep fighting... believe it or not, we all have obstacles we have to overcome. This is a hindered and horrible world, and the flesh really sucks the life out of us. I am praying for you... keep fighting.

We all have challenges in this life. We all have obstacles and road blocks. It is those of us who trust in the LORD that get through them. With this said, it's not always easy, in fact it's rarely easy, but it is so worth it to trust God, hear God and believe that His promises are REAL AND JUST FOR US.

“Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.” ~Psalm 97:11 (New International Version)

Day 966 of Giving Thanks

Our ministry is an open and splendid thing
"With this hope in our hearts we are quite frank and open in our ministry. We are not like Moses, who veiled his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing its fading glory. But it was their minds really which were blinded, for even today when the old agreement is read to them there is still a veil over their minds—though the veil has actually been lifted by Christ. Yes, alas, even to this day there is still a veil over their hearts when the writings of Moses are read. Yet if they “turned to the Lord” the veil would disappear. For the Lord to whom they could turn is the spirit of the new agreement, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, men’s souls are set free.” ~2 Corinthians 3:12-17 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

When we focus on what is wrong in our life, and how much has gone wrong, we are focused on "me, me, me..." we give credit to the enemy, giving him accolades and space in our minds. CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS. When we focus on what is right, we give credit to the LORD for the work in our lives.

From the depths of my soul, I have assurance; at the surface is doubt and the world... Hmmm, which one wins?

There is no doubt that assurance wins, but in the battle, there is much carnage. Why is that? Because the flesh is weak... but know this my friends, God is much stronger than the flesh, for with Jesus the flesh (sin) is overcome, not just once, but every single time. Remember from where our strength comes and we will live in a victorious manner.

There is no doubt, that my strength comes from the LORD. My assurance comes from the work of the LORD. My deepest and most heart felt comfort is in knowing I am His.

Do you have victory?
Do you know Jesus?
Did you know that He did all He did on earth, on the cross and from the grave are so that you too can know assurance?

No matter how bad our days get, nothing compares to the day of separation for Christ. As believers, we are His. with Him and He in us. think about being God, but fully man, and that single moment being separated from all that You knew and taking on all the evil, pain, heartache, disappointment and despair of the world - all to save the world - and knowing that many will still not 'BELIEVE'. Taking on the weight of the world means nothing in our fleshly terms.

Father forgive us for our limited beliefs and perspectives. Forgive us for not recognizing You all around us as who You are and what You did.

After a storm (bad things), new growth occurs.

I have been praying for those in despair again... what a heartbreak. Part of me asks, "are they looking for attention?" Part knows the enemy's hold is very strong", either way, he needs the strength of the Holy Spirit to fight through.... "fleshly terms" is heartbreaking on a normal day, when the enemy bites in there is nothing normal about that day... but we all must be prepared for that attack. The enemy is ferocious and furious knowing that his time is short... he will not stop until God's children are in despair, disconnected and despondent.

Do you ever feel these things?
Do you recognize that you are being used by the enemy to meet his needs?
Do you rebuke (really REBUKE) his efforts and attempts?
Or do you submit to the enemy; cower, whine, allow the use to overflow to those you love and spiral downward?

DO NOT GIVE IN!
Allow God to be in control and recognize true freedom.
"So let it be clearly known and understood by you, brethren, that through this Man forgiveness and removal of sins is now proclaimed to you; And that through Him everyone who believes [who [a]acknowledges Jesus as his Savior and devotes himself to Him] is absolved (cleared and freed) from every charge from which he could not be justified and freed by the Law of Moses and given right standing with God." ~Acts 13:38-39 (Amplified Bible)

Allow God to be your guide and direct you steps.
"But now, having been set free from sin and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit leading to sanctification, and its end is eternal life." ~Romans 6:22 (Lexham English Bible)

Do not give in to defeat... Know that victory is already yours through a living and mighty God.

Do you believe God, or do you believe satan?

Thanksgiving Day Today… but it’s really thanksgiving day Every Day!

We have an obligation to know our family. Do we have a desire to understand the depth of pain or hurt that has occurred, as well as continue to stand in faith as we share what we have learned? Are we ready, willing and available to ask questions, step out of our comfort zone and help with a solution? Sometimes it's a simple prayer, sometimes it's reaching out to others for a brother or sister's needs. Sometimes it's speaking truth in love and kindness. Sometimes it's loving unconditionally as they go through their trial. And sometimes it's God's job and all we can do is continue to do what we have been placed here to do most of all - TRUST GOD.

Prepare my heart LORD... with the music that sets my heart straight because You truly are the "air I breathe".

My heart goes out to those in despair today... I have dealt with depression my entire adult life; God's healing hands are amazing...

Victory is already ours. NO DOUBT.

In the U.S. many of us are preparing for a very big "family" day. Don't let the stress of the past get to you. Take a moment and prepare your heart and mind and allow the Spirit to guide your emotions tomorrow. Don't let anything get under your skin. Allow the grace of God to flow to through to the family members that "just rub you the wrong way"... love them in the manner in which Christ loves all of us, despite our flaws, disobedience and stupidity (talking to myself, of course).

Enjoy the day, love the life you have and the family you have for just a minute of eternity.

Love them... through the perfect love of a mighty God.

Take some time tonight and remember that Jesus is right here with you... agree that we must die to self and live to Him.

We are reborn in a beautiful way... you have so much to give in this life. Look in the mirror, reminder yourself, "I see it in me and through me daily because of the Holy Spirit".

Do not let the fear of the unknown rule your day (your life). Stand in His presence and trust the path He guides you to. A wrong turn, no problem, He will correct your steps....

As children of God, we are not people of self-pity, but His people of victory. Let us walk in that confidence through faith - some of us may require daily reminders that we are His. May we pray for those to come along side us and remind us AND PRAY FOR AND WITH US.

"Where is your trust today?

Do you ask yourself that in times of doubt? That is a great question to keep on the tip of your tongue, and at the front of your thoughts.

Now, what is your answer?"

The challenge for you (yes you) today (every day)...

Go the next 48 hours without complaining... yes, even with all your family around for Thanksgiving. What does that mean? No internal, under the breath complaints about anyone, including yourself.

If you mess up... STOP, GIVE IT TO GOD AND BEGIN AGAIN. You will not be perfect, but the idea is to GET BETTER...

Next challenge. Make it through the next 48 hours, then BEGIN AGAIN to create a new habit of seeing the good in every situation.

Just keep God at the forefront of your thoughts brothers and sisters and shut the gate to your mind to all that is of the enemy. He cannot stand up to the limitless power and strength of the Holy Spirit.

A prayer for the despaired, for as a child of God, we can know greatness in our hearts with nothing but hope and joy, let us stand together for one another and those who have not the will to stand.

Father, we lift our brothers and sisters up to You for an overflowing of Your presence right now. We pray for the hold of the enemy to be loosed and the arms of our ever-present Savior through the Holy Spirit take hold. We pray for peace and comfort.

Brothers and sisters, let us stand together now for that amazing resolve in our hearts; let us know that we are amazing beings, bought by the perfecting blood of Christ. Let us stand in prayer and petition that our God, our mighty Father in heaven is bigger than any emotion, especially despair and depression...

Know that you can, in all the power and strength of our LORD fight through. You are so mighty LORD. Let our brother see You right now instead of the despair. We stand in faith LORD and You are right here with us, lifting Steven and shining greatly on his day and this dark moment. Let him see the life in Your light. Amen…

I think of the challenge of despair often and know so many who allow it to take up space in their hearts and minds; and think so many of us just don't verbalize our despair in an outward manner, but we torment our hearts. In this time of thanksgiving, which for me is truly every day, I am reminded often that it is my thoughts, what I hold captive in my mind that gives end to that torment. My prayer is for others to know this same freedom from despair. Let us always give the emotions that harm the heart to God who so greatly desires our hearts to be resolved in truth.  It's a daily lesson of walking truly in faith to continue moving in that direction.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.” ~2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (Amplified Bible)

Day 965 of Giving Thanks

We have the daily task and purpose to be U.sed by God on this N.ever failing mission. I am grateful that I am never alone with this I.ntentional purpose that is only accomplished  T.ogether, as we travel the narrow road, as the LORD draws us nearer and we walk Y.earning to be in His will.
Unity

The core message of the gospel (TRUTH) – we need Jesus, because without Him, we would not be able to be in the presence of God. We have to admit that our sin will keep us separated from God. Through the suffering, crucifixion, death and resurrection AND belief that He did it for us, we can now be with God.

Jesus is the foundation, the only reason.

“God's readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation's available for everyone! We're being shown how to turn our backs on a godless, indulgent life, and how to take on a God-filled, God-honoring life. This new life is starting right now, and is whetting our appetites for the glorious day when our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, appears. He offered himself as a sacrifice to free us from a dark, rebellious life into this good, pure life, making us a people he can be proud of, energetic in goodness.” ~Titus 2:11-14 (The Message)

There are over 30,000 denominations, but the core message is still the core message. Are you known as the “name the denomination person”, or the “Jesus person”? Our unity is in the core message, we will disagree – but we are to be in unity – fellowship, we are all in this together, so my prayer is that when we shine for Jesus and the kingdom, that those around us, can see that we are “in this together”, despite our differences.

Unity is not dependent on our effort - it is dependent on the effort of Jesus.

“I therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God’s service,Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another.Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace.[There is] one body and one Spirit—just as there is also one hope [that belongs] to the calling you receive—[There is] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of [us] all, Who is above all [Sovereign over all], pervading all and [living] in [us] all.” ~Ephesians 4:1-6 (Amplified Bible)

Through the years, I have heard opinion, after opinion, after opinion – it can be a difficult journey when we listen to the voices, and not the Word. I will hear God speaking through many things, but I have to remember that His Word is my beacon in all circumstances; and only in resting in Him and His power will I do rightly more often than not.

Resting doesn't always mean feet up, arms by your side, eyes closed... resting is know that He is the One we go to, depend on and trust. Father, I pray we can move into that place of rest where we can be thoughtfully and prayerfully in Your presence. Let us be ever-aware, ever-ready and ever-present.

“Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.” ~Psalm 37:5 (Amplified Bible)

Sometimes our talking, when we are "talkers", needs to be with God alone... He can definitely work out more details than any advice from a friend. We, as humans, tend to talk to avoid listening to what God has for us... The LORD is always here, in the good times too. Come to Him in Thanksgiving for all circumstances.

Thank You LORD for seeing me, for knowing my heart and directing me toward You purpose and plan.

I will never be perfect on this earth, in this body... but I know one thing really well... I am being perfected by He who is perfect and there is nothing better than that.

He is right here.
Can you see Him in your day to day?
Do you call on Him and out to Him often?

Do it now, He's waiting.

“But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.” ~2 Corinthians 12:9 (New International Version)

Day 964 of Giving Thanks

I pray the LORD gives you strength to "act", not be passive, to "believe", not be fearful.

“Although he was abused,
he never tried to get even.
And when he suffered,
    he made no threats.
Instead, he had faith in God,
    who judges fairly.
 Christ carried the burden
    of our sins.
He was nailed to the cross,
so that we would stop sinning
    and start living right.
By his cuts and bruises
    you are healed.
You had wandered away
    like sheep.
Now you have returned
    to the one
who is your shepherd
and protector.” ~ 1 Peter 2:23-25 (Contemporary English Version)

How many times have I "seen" something, yet not really "seen what it really is"? I tend to pass judgment, based on what I see around me, but is that really what I should do? Should I judge a circumstance or a person in an instant, yet not know what happened the moment before, the day before, the year or years before? Sometimes we just need to love them, AND if led, ask them about what they are going through. Offer an ear, hold a hand, and at the least, pray for them.

Something I thought of as I was “addressing” an issue in my heart. And, whenever I “feel” attacked, or uneasy I have to stop, pray and ask the LORD to show me what “this” is. Is it what it seems? Am I the target or just in the line of fire? And, the most important question is, what can I do?

People with judge you, call you names and the enemy will use your past hurts to bring you down. Let us say, "back off satan, you have no ground here.”

We all have things we need to work on... but when we are so focused on what others are "doing wrong", we loose sight of what God is shedding light on in our own.

We focus on our own correction and focus on others when it comes to love and affection.

We all sin, we all do thing wrong, we are new beings in the same ole fleshly bodies. It's like putting a brand new paint job on an old beater car, EXCEPT we do have one big difference, our fuel is the perfect fuel of the Holy Spirit.

And this is the fuel that will run through what is old and warn out and make it all new... from the inside out.

Thank You LORD.

We have to remember, when change happens, things may appear to be worse, before ever appearing better. But when we keep an eye on the LORD and know that His view is different, we can press in.

Keeping a perspective of God in the key and I find I must learn to “think” differently that the world. I must remember who I belong to, what He did for me and that it is my responsibility to do what He desires and His desire is what my desire will be.

Thank You LORD.

It's all about attitude and obedience. It’s all about the right perspective, and I will say this again, KNOW WHO I BELONG TO - my Shepherd, my Protector, my Savior, my Redeemer, my Jesus.

Day 963 of Giving Thanks

There is only one word to hold dear, “LOVE”. Above all else, love God, the Father. From that, everything else will come. Everything that love is to nourish will grow! What would you do differently if you knew that you had access to power, strength, hope and all the courage you will ever need?

Are you a child of God?
Have you trusted Jesus?
Does the Holy Spirit dwell in you?

Then it's time to look at things differently. You are His, take every step like a child of God should. He's right there with you.

”Then one of the scribes came up and listened to them disputing with one another, and, noticing that Jesus answered them fitly and admirably, he asked Him, Which commandment is first and most important of all [in its nature]?“Jesus answered, The first and principal one of all commands is: Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord;“And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment.” ~Mark 12:28-30 (Amplified)
“Therefore, imitate God like dearly loved children. Live your life with love, following the example of Christ, who loved us and gave himself for us. He was a sacrificial offering that smelled sweet to God.” ~Ephesians 5:1-2 (Common English Bible)

  (NIV) – “Follow God’s example”. ~verse 1
(HCSB) – “And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.” ~verse 1

“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.” ~Ephesians 5:6-7 (New International Version)
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.” ~1 Peter 4:8-11 (New International Version)

In this life, that completely bombards us our senses and our sensitivities - This life, that seems to ‘take away’ our sensibilities and reason - Let us stay in the WORD so that we can recognize His light shining to the path we are to go, the words we are to heed, the things we are to see, the truth we are to hear and the things that will move our heart toward Him daily, and in every moment.

”Jesus said, "The first in importance is, 'Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.' And here is the second: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' There is no other commandment that ranks with these." ~ Mark 12:29-31 (The Message Bible)

We Are God's Children“The Father has loved us so much that we are called children of God. And we really are his children. The reason the people in the world do not know us is that they have not known him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and we have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him, because we will see him as he really is. Christ is pure, and all who have this hope in Christ keep themselves pure like Christ.” ~1 John 3:1-5 (New Century Version)

”I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” ~Galatians 2:20 (Amplified Bible)

“If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father's commandments and live on in His love. I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy and gladness may be of full measure and complete and overflowing. This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you.    “No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends. You are My friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do. I do not call you servants (slaves) any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing (working out). But I have called you My friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father. [I have revealed to you everything that I have learned from Him.]” ~John 15:10-15 (Amplified Bible)
“But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” ~Romans 5:8 (New Living Translation)

God of wonder...

When I was a child, we use to play hide and seek, I often think of that as an adult and wonder why when we have such an amazing God, we try to hide. I say "try", because we can never be where He cannot find us.

God of wonder....

Now that I am His child, no longer an enemy of God I seek, no longer hide, to be wholly in His presence.

Just Saying by Ron McIntyre

Do you really want to know God's will for your life? Do you really want to learn His plans for you? God promises to reveal His will to everyone who will obey whatever He tells them to do. That also would apply to not doing what He tells you not to do.--In both cases, His instructions on how to live your life are written in the Bible plain and simple, it is up to us whether we follow this instruction or attempt to change the meaning to satisfy our own fleshly desires. The important thing is that it is up to each and everyone of us to make the choice. Free will is such a great gift and with it comes accountability and responsibility for we must individually answer to our God.

Be obedient and be discerning so that you never are deceived by the enemy who shows himself best through false teachers disguised as sheep but are truly the wolves.

Blessings,
Strength and Honor

Day 962 of Giving Thanks

"Be Strong and Courageous"

"Be strong and courageous".... the key word is "Be", not "wait to be",  not "want to be", not "aspire to be".... sounds like a command to me... God says "Be....." it is action, not submission. Deuteronomy. 31:6, 31:7, 31:23, Joshua 1:6, 1:7, 1:9, 1:18, 10:25, 1 Chronicles 22:13, 28:20, 32:7....

Do you ever "feel" like you cannot get from point A to point B because you are fearful, anxious, worried, unsure or just plain tired? We have all been there; myself included. For me, it's been many more times than I care to remember, and just recently in fact. We can stay in this state or we can walk in faith; we can't be in both. I call this a state of confusion because we are His, and everything with God is certain, if it's certain, how can we not trust our status as a child of God?

Every time I feel this way, I dive into the "Be Strong and Courageous" verses...

Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:7
"Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance."
Deuteronomy 31:23
"The LORD gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: "Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you."
Joshua 1:6
"Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them."
Joshua 1:7
"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:18
"Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey your words, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!"
Joshua 10:25
"Joshua said to them, "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is what the LORD will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.""
1 Chronicles 22:13
"Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged."
1 Chronicles 28:20
"David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished."
2 Chronicles 32:7
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him."

Tightrope or Solid Ground?

Tightrope or Solid Ground?
"Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world." 1 Peter 5:8-9 (The Amplified Bible)

It is not my life that needs balance, it is my thoughts - for it is His thoughts that should filter through my heart at every changed circumstance, good or bad, right? And, these last weeks, I have felt His presence almost at every thought, every moment through the good and the bad. Praising Him through it all.  Psalm 42, comes to mind, specifically verse 8—“By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.”

If we go through our lives “believing” that we are walking a tight rope, then the fall will be painful. If we go through life understanding that it is a journey, one where the ground is solid, because our guide is solid, then we will move up the mountain gracefully, as well as impactfully.

Although our journeys are very different, they are much the same. We live day to day, and experience our circumstances, make choice, reap the benefits of good choices and hold on to Him more during the bad. So, as you take the next step it’s time to realize what you are stepping on to, or in to.

I have come to realize that “balance” only comes when I allow God to be the focal point of my life:

My thoughts toward His – “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” ~2 Corinthians 10:5 (New International Version)
My eyes to see like His – “The Lord’s eyes scan the whole world to find those whose hearts are committed to him and to strengthen them. You acted foolishly in this matter. So from now on, you will have to fight wars.” ~2 Chronicles 16:9 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
My heart, pure and sincere – “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.” ~Psalm 51:10 (Amplified Bible)
My days filled with Him – “Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” ~2 Peter 1:4 (New International Version)
Always remembering who I call on – “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” ~Jeremiah 33:3 (New International Version)

As I head into today, I remember all these things. And finally as I know that where I head is filled with unknowns, and things not of God – I must be prepared, protected and ready for the enemy’s hunt, so please join me in putting on the full armor of God and know that what He tells us is true, what He is, is truth and you are a child of God… a child of the King, loved, protected and cherished.

The Armor of God
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,  and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” ~Ephesians 6:10-17 (New International Version)

Day 961 of Giving Thanks

No matter what kind of day you are having, you can change it. Everything comes down to thought. Our thoughts control us. Regardless of our circumstances, we can still remember who God is for us and who we are because of Him - this right here is every reason to REJOICE. As we set out on this day, continue this day or end this day, let us remember all the amazing things He has done and has shown us. I can spend days reveling in the good of our LORD in my life, HOW ABOUT YOU?

Self-loathing does not edify Christ...when we are His, we will get knocked down, dragged through and trampled on. However, we can decide to stand up, allow Him to lift us back up and brush off the world as many times as it takes and SHOW God in our life.

In the mud and the muck, we still can shine Jesus through our faith that we are eternally set, believe Him and trust His will be done.

Pray, trust, believe, hope, live well!

Friends, let me encourage You to keep pressing in, pushing forward and leaning on Him. Let me encourage you, as so many have continued to encourage me – He is here! You are not alone! He has a plan! And, you are dearly, sincerely and sacrificially loved beyond measure.

So today, let me praise again and again for the words that come, the Word that is to share, the times in the Word, as well as all the wisdom shared as the Holy Spirit directs, corrects and confirms every single step. I am praying greatly for a breakthrough, and that I can break through the holding points in my mind. That I can break free from the things that stop me in my tracks, produce fear or anxiety and all the thoughts that hold me captive, rather than me holding every thought captive through Him.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (New King James Version)

He is faithful to His word and promises. You can trust Him in all things – this truth is what keeps my mind away from the thoughts that harm me. Knowing that He is for me, I am His, and nothing can change that.

In all things we do, we should remember the LORD, His gift and giftings for us, and all the gifts we can be giving to others through our activities.

Some of us, including me, spend so much time on activities that neither serve God or grow us toward Him. I am not saying, don't be passionate about the things you enjoy in life, but realize how much time you are spending there and reflect on the times spent with God. And, it's not about balance or works for the LORD. He TRULY DESIRES YOU TO KNOW HIM... He already knows you, but wants you to share that with Him.

Just something to ponder as I was scheduling my week and deciding how much time for this, how much time for that.

My questions to all of us are, "Where is God in your schedule?" AND "Doesn't it make sense to make sure He is in everything?"

So, to tie all this together, let me close with this. Good start or bad start, we can change it. We change it through thought, and our thoughts change through knowing who we are in Him. We know who we are in Him, by getting to know Him… reading His Word, spending time with Him and making that our top priority. With God as our priority, we change, oh so thankful I am for time with our Father, and open for change.

“Delight yourselves in God, yes, find your joy in him at all times. Have a reputation for gentleness, and never forget the nearness of your Lord.“Don’t worry over anything whatever; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the peace of God which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus.” ~Philippians 4:4-7 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

Day 960 of Giving Thanks

What is everyone reading right now, and I don't mean novels... What is your nourishment plan for your life? What book, study or keywords (or share what you are doing) are you allowing into your heart, thoughts and all that you breathe?

I have been all over the place these past few weeks, and I sure noticed a difference. I want to read a book, but would love to have some others reading the same so we can share (I am a really slow reader, "see Jane run", but the Holy Spirit always helps me and keeps me in tune... What do you say? What thoughts are you allowing to creep in?

“For although we are living in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human, but powerful to God for the tearing down of fortresses, tearing down arguments 5 and all pride that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” ~2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (Lexham English Bible)

I have been on an amazing learning curve these past months. I was getting more and more tired, more 'depressed' (using this word, describe, not as a diagnosis), heavy hearted, angry, discouraged.... and the more tired and (fill in the blank) I got, the less I purposely got in the Word. My routine changed; the way I saw the things around me changed, my heart was heavy for the sake of lacking the discipline to trust that God was truly and earnestly waiting for me to see Him...

I really want to encourage you to get into the WORD first, then pick up the other books. I visibly and physically notice a difference.

Time with God can be many things... a spot on your calendar, a meeting with others, but really it's an all day slot on your schedule. He has an open door, which is right before all of us to help us open our eyes, ears and hearts. Let us not forget how powerful that is for all of us. He is our strength, our direction, our hope and our “everything”; especially the priority in our lives.

Honestly, we are kidding ourselves if we believe we can pray our way to hear Him... it is His Word.... this is huge conviction for me, and I think that is why we have dropped off so much. When I asked this question 8 months ago, many of us were reading and in the Word heavily... as I read through an old note, this really popped out.

A Poem of David; [probably] intended to record memorable thoughts.“Keep and protect me, O God, for in You I have found refuge, and in You do I put my trust and hide myself.“I say to the Lord, You are my Lord; I have no good beside or beyond You.“As for the godly (the saints) who are in the land, they are the excellent, the noble, and the glorious, in whom is all my delight.” ~Psalm 16:1-3 (Amplified Bible)

Here's what I started doing. I began to listen through the scripture. I went over Genesis 6 or 7 times in a month... listening, then reading; reading, then listening... I gleaned so much and began to see the change, than BAM, I got hit again, more tired, no results from the treatments, job issues, home issues, money issues... and it kept going and going. First, I stopped reading, then I stopped writing, I prayed, but my heart was still very heavy... and I figured out why. I was not following my own advice, AND GOD'S INSTRUCTION to stay in His Word - I went from devouring His word, to starving and becoming anorexic of the Word.

I had no energy to dive in... and the enemy loved it, and by this point he didn't have to do anything, I was already down spiraling to despair and pain of my own doing. I kept hearing, "snap out of it", "this isn't you", "listen and hear and rest in Him".... So I did... I forced myself to snap out of it. To move inch by inch... moment to moment. I had some friends pray with me, and it lifted. The one friend who prayed with me all times, said yesterday, "It's like the LORD grabbed you and shook off the despair and shined you up".

It's being in the WORD that keeps us with Him, no doubt in my mind and deep in my heart. I pray you too, come to the same conclusion...

Day 959 of Giving Thanks

Focused on the Goal
"I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back." ~Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message)

I cannot relay enough how grateful I am for the many lessons I have received and how grateful I am for the way God has used my deficiencies to grow in amazing ways. Often times, I have an opportunity to look back at what God has done in my life, through this gift of healing and being able to write and learn as I do. Every day I want to be amazed by all the changes He has made in me, but all I can do is be amazed by Him and all the miracles in the simplest of things.

"The lessons of my lifetime are to "LET THINGS GO" and Trust God!!! Now applying these on a day to day, or maybe even a moment by moment basis is a great practice. How many times do I start to do something, and a memory comes back to me about a similar situation? LOTS, the trick is to remember or reflect only on the memories that will move me forward. And, I am not saying forget all the crap or to remember only the wins; I am saying "use what will keep you moving forward affectively". I praise God for all the reminders of this in my life right now. He truly is amazing! Yesterday something that has been said over and over by my business mentor, was said again by my business mentor. And because I have become more aware and open to hearing - ears that hear, I am praying for strength in this area. "There is nothing I am doing wrong. Nothing I need to change. I am good enough." I just need to keep believing in me, and taking the day to day or moment by moment assistance of the Holy Spirit; keep alert, attentive to the details of my surroundings, walk in confidence that His hand is leading me on this path.“Put MYSELF in the Lord’s hands. Let the Lord save ME! Let God rescue ME since he is pleased with ME!” ~Psalm 22:8, (GOD’S WORD Translation) This is now, God is present, and I am destined for great things. How can I not be over-joyed, confident and even more apt to share this life with everyone I know or meet? "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you." ~Psalm 9:10 (New International Version)
"He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him." ~Psalm 22:8 (New International Version) "And here I am, a nothing—an earthworm, something to step on,to squash. Everyone pokes fun at me; they make faces at me, theyshake their heads: Let's see how God handles this one; since Godlikes him so much, let him help him!"~Psalm 22:8 (The Message)" ~Day 169 of Giving Thanks
It really all comes down to this simple truth - Let us all pray for the hearts and desires to do and be just that. Christ-like in our actions. Christ-like in our prayer life.

Would You Share a Giving Thanks Thought?

What are you doing every day to get you closer to God? What are you reading? Are you in the Word?

Many of us celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.S., a day of family, reflection and a meal.

Our daily objective should follow what we do once a year. We should reflect daily on what we are thankful for, as well as why we are and should be thankful; reaching out to others, our family, including our brothers and sisters in Christ and breaking bread in gratitude, first that we have bread and second that we can honor God in even the little things we do.

Would love your thoughts on Thanksgiving, the holiday or giving thanks otherwise.

So, can I quote you? Share your thoughts with others?

Day 958 of Giving Thanks

Today, I praise you Father for all that You do. God, You know where I am, what my heart is and I trust that You will continue to guide me toward Your plan for me. It has truly been an amazing couple of years; it has included many times of uncertainty; moments, and even days of heartbreak and heartache; trials beyond any trial I have encountered before; YET THE MOST AMAZING ASSURANCES THROUGH MY TIME WITH YOU LORD, MY HEAVENLY FATHER.

Nothing compares, is not just a cliché for me, it is my daily thought. I am so grateful for the lessons learned and all the lessons to come. I am so grateful for the many times of doubt and the many times of fear, not that I like those times, but those were the times when I sought Him more, desired His presence more in my life. And today, I praise for all the times, for all the times are truly good times because of who I am, and whose I am.

The things that has kept me pressing in most is the desire to serve others, to be more like Christ and know that it is all about Him; His work in me, His work for me, His life for mine, and knowing that mine is to serve Him.

Service for Christ... this is the daily objective. Praying for others, praying for wisdom and doing what we can, that is doing what is right.

Let me be reminded of the prayer You gave me LORD for a friend, but really it is for me. Let me stand firm, in faith and trust daily.

And, friends, let me encourage You to keep pressing in, pushing forward and leaning on Him. Let me encourage you, as so many have continued to encourage me – He is here! You are not alone! He has a plan! And, you are dearly, sincerely and sacrificially loved beyond measure.

Father, we thank You for Your hand upon our lives. We thank You that You know all the major things we are going through and all the little things we need. We pray that in times of exhaustion, we can remember Your presence. We pray that in the times of our own in-capabilities we remember that You are able in every instance to pull us through, draw us near and bring us to complete healing. We stand firm as Your daughters and sons in faith, trust and belief that we are truly Your precious ones and You are right here with us in times when we just can't lift our heads and we have heavy hearts. We pray for strength to do what is needed, to give up what we cannot do and believe that we can and will do both as the Holy Spirit leads; we pray we can hear and abide. Thank You amazing Father for our beautiful friends, and I lift my so many up to You for all these things; hope and favor for a healed body, mind and heart. I pray that we all can see You daily, in the times of trouble especially, and when we look into those precious gifts of our children. Let us be comforting to them, as we seek and need Your comfort. We trust You LORD and expect to live in that faith. May we be obedient in belief if nothing else, and trusting of all Your promises, and when we feel in our hearts that we cannot stand alone, let us lean on and press into You even more intently. Amen.

Be encouraged. He loves you intently. He desires nothing more than for You to love Him wholly, trust Him, and know Him. Tonight, if you have not come to Him, don’t wait any longer. Seek Him, be comforted and know that He is all you need. Nothing compares.

Day 957 of Giving Thanks

Hi LORD, thank You for surprises.

"Be still", I hear yet again... and find myself asking the LORD, "What does that mean for me right now?" Anyone else do this? This has been my internal conversation over the past few days. As I contemplate many things in my life right now, I am assured of the greatest of things and that is my place in eternity. That right here friends is the ultimate assurance, and if you are like me, you can complicate things with things that surround you. Yep, that is me in a nutshell… I am so grateful that being a work in progress is what He knows me to be, and that with every passing day, with Him, I get better and better; never perfect, but better.

It is my responsibility to allow change, improvements and enhancements – exciting stuff, actually!

Today, like any other day? Well, maybe, maybe not. It has been a good day - a really, really good day to continue trusting the plan; His plan. It really is time to settle in to trusting Him.

"But I trust in you, O Lord; I Say, You are my God. My times are in your hands; deliver from my enemies and those that pursue me." ~Psalm 31: 14-15 (New International Version)

How about you? Have you "settled in" to trusting Him yet?

In times of trial, look up and allow Him to lift you… In times of triumph, remember who put you there. Let me share some thoughts that came during a prayer time last week, “Don't undersell your accomplishments, no matter how minimal or unimportant they seem. Whatever your job, do it well. Whatever your job, give it your all. Whatever your job, make sure you are working for Him”. And, if you forget any of this, remember this…

“Come to me, all you who are struggling hard and carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (Common English Bible)

A Look at Day 310

With heaven in mind, but not the motive, I live in hope, with extended joy and pray that my life will reflect the greatest gift ever given.

"Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness." ~Romans 10:1-3

With Jesus the work is DONE... when we work to win God's favor, we become religious and believe we must DO. There is no "do" on our part EXCEPT to believe that Jesus already was prosecuted, carried the cross, was crucified, died, laid in a tomb and rose from the dead, all as promised and written. That is what I believe and I pray others will come to realize. He is truly an awesome, trustworthy and faithful God.

Day 956 of Giving Thanks

Have I suggested you reading Psalm 42? I love it. And it is really a staple for me. I have been having a tough time in one area of my life, so tough in fact, I have been in tears for months... God pushed me when I didn't want to budge, and just wanted to be the victim, and it is still a push, but I know He is here... I just keep giving everything to Him... I pray the same for you.

"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God." ~Psalm 42 (King James Version)

I thought that someone out there just might grab one and hold onto it for the day/week... for me a lifetime.

Gratitude for the simple things is what He showed me first. Why? I believe because there are so many little things to be thankful for; but you know we (in this clothing of flesh) we focus on big things, which often times, later on really don't mean all that much in the big picture. Help us LORD to see the majors in the minors and the huge in the tiny.

"It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep!" ~Psalms 92:1-5 (English Standard Version)

What are some of the simple things you are most grateful for? I know LORD that You not only desire my obedience, but it is needed for me to recognize and realize Your blessings and fulfillment of my heart's desires. Thank You for saving me and drawing me nearer through adhering to Your Word through the promptings, power and strength of the Holy Spirit.

We are fortunate people. As children of God, we have all that we need and all that we will ever need through His amazing grace.

"But I trust in you, O Lord; I Say, You are my God. My times are in your hands; deliver from my enemies and those that pursue me." ~Psalm 31: 14-15 (New International Version)

It is only the LORD Jesus and the work on the cross that saves us... we must believe that His death was for our sins, that anything we do will not save us. Once we accept His gift (His death for ours) we are saved; the Holy Spirit then resides in us and we are God's beloved child. A wonderful thing isn't it?
