A Quick Thought...

Tonight as I sit here, and let the last few months settle in... the changes the growth and the amazing work of our Father, I am in awe of how He uses everything to carry out His plan. For the things that seemed to be "out of whack" or "not in sync" with Your will LORD, I praise Your everything... Your promises for my family... Your provision that is always on time... Your favor and mercy in the times that seem to be "too much to bear"... Your saving work, Your redeeming process... Your perfecting guidance and correction. Thank You.

"And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." ~Matthew 18:3 (New International Version)

In awe of Him seems to be a steady pattern in my life. I am learning to trust - which is a very tough thing to do, when I want so desperately to hold onto the lacks that exist all around me. I am not sure that you can understand, but it's the days like today that I truly cling to... the days where I can see Him, His work and His plans through this journey which is a mystery in the flesh, and a victory in the Spirit... they days when I truly desire to let go of this world and all that is the flesh... the days that I know His presence is all that is permanent and truth.

““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”” ~John 16:33 (New International Version)

Father in these moments when I can reflect on Him and trust His will and plan I ask for further strength and courage to keep pressing in through the moments when I just cannot see through the worries or lies of this earthly existence. Help me to remember my heavenly home and the truth that is what You have done for us. Help me to remember this always. Help me to see You always. Thank You for Your presence and Your daily grace to see through all that I not You. Amen.

Messages from the Team Ps139 group

Messages from the Team
Ps139 group

"God has truly gifted me with my Ps139 Group. We are a family from many places and different backgrounds. Most of us have never met, but we are not strangers. It all started many years ago at the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. God's love was given to us as a free gift through Jesus. As that love resides and grows in our hearts we have been called to the minister through this group. We hope that our knowledge, godly wisdom, joy, love, tears, and even our failures and weaknesses will minister to your hearts." ~Bobbi Watts, edifier for Psalm 139 with Purpose and Wonderfully Made

"For many years I searched for my best friend from high school, who had moved to Arizona not too long after graduation. And almost three years ago now, thanks to the Good Lord and computers, I finally found her. She had married and relocated yet again, but this time , clear across the country and through her, I’ve come to know and love this Ps139 Group of people. They have become not just "friends I met online", but they are a very big part of my life. They are more like family than friends. they will talk with you when you are lonely, they will listen when you desperately need to be heard, they will pray with and for you whether you've asked them to or not.  They are the most incredible family I’ve ever known and I Thank God for them every day! I hope that I am able to touch even a tiny part of the hearts that this group does on a daily basis. and I hope to meet them all one day when Jesus calls us home!" ~Wanda, edifier for Psalm 139 with Purpose

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins… ‘The virgin will be child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel’—which means, "God with us.”~ Matthew 1:21-23 (New International Version)

"I watched a little girl singing “Happy Birthday Jesus…it is all about You Jesus…I love You”. I started crying, and then for the first time, I realized that He saw and knew my pain and He understands, and that I had to let go of all I was holding on to, and let Him alone reign in my life. I heard God telling me to open up to Him, and I saw Him beaming with joy because I could finally see Him looking at me, showing me that He is with me and that He loves me so dearly. I remember, as a little girl, the first song I ever song in front of a crowd was, “Be bold, be strong, for the Lord our God is with You”. That was a great proclamation, as a child, because we were going through trials. A child is trusting, and believes easily. As we grow, this becomes more difficult, because we face greater challenges, but it is no excuse because God will not leave us nor forsake us. Through all our struggles, He is always available, and He delights in us and wants us just as we are. He has now placed a fearfully and wonderfully made family, the Psalm 139 group, through which I can proclaim that JESUS is IMMANUEL and I trust Him with my life to do as He pleases in me. He encourages us to be like a child, with a loving and trusting heart, holding on to His hand always.

"IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM, because He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life, who reconciled us to the Father. He is the Star and the Good Shepherd that guides us; He is the Wise Man who is all truth, the Word of God revealed; He is the giver of the gift of life, the High Priest, and the loving King that saves. His coming into the world was not easy but, it was extraordinary, and so it changed many. He is willing to do the same in us, and if we truly open up to Him and know Him as He is, our song changes, from singing about our trials to singing, “It is all about You Jesus. So let us be BOLD AND STRONG, even more than we have ever been, in thanksgiving and in surrender. Our mission is to worship Him with our lives, and tell others of Him, our Saviour, our Solution, the only One who completes us. He is eternal: His love is eternal; what He did is eternal; our song of the joy of our salvation is eternal, and; all who believe in Him will live with Him eternally. You are blessed!"
Infinite love,
Abby Beenzu, edifier for Psalm 139 with Purpose and Wonderfully Made

"I am thankful for salvation tonight for sure but I am most thankful for discernment and spiritual maturity through Him that is necessary to keep accurate thinking in this mixed up world. He has given me understandings about things that others often let destroy their lives and faith. When I resist living in those understandings He is always patient and loving with me as He helps me work through laying down the emotional end I sometimes have trouble with. He never lets me go far away from Him without reminding me who I am in Him and who He is. He holds me close to His side as a parent does a child and reminds me I am always safe in His ever loving arms. He will never let me go, leave or forsake me. He makes His presence real to me because His nature is so different from my own without Him. Because He lives I can face tomorrow. No truer words do I know than those. I am so grateful to be a part of this ministry because it gives me a chance to reach out to those who need it most and share the discernment that has helped me so very much. It also gives me the chance to have the encouragement and support I desperately need myself. I have more, love support and encouragement here in group and amongst the members of these pages than I do in my own home and life. God always finds a way to sustain His people. Thank You, Father. May our blessed savior give you that which you are in most need of tonight and may your daily walk only grow sweeter as you step out in faith for a closer walk with Him." ~Sandy Anderson, edifier for Ps139 group

"I praise and thank God daily for accompanying my wife of 40 years back along that path many years ago in the valley of darkness. I was truly lost and so close to giving up and going along with the "flow". Together they found me, each took a hand and brought me 'home" for which I am truly thankful today. God added a bonus to this miracle in that we now have this wonderful group of beautiful people who started off as friends and soon became family. We love you all very much. God bless. Us 2!" ~Barry Kleynhans, edifier for Ps139 group

"It has been an amazing year, one filled with many challenges and perfecting changes. I am so grateful for all of you and what God is doing with all of us. We may not see all that He has for us in the middle of "the happenings" of our life, but we can know that He is... which means we can live in an amazing way through the strength of the Holy Spirit. We can stand firm and confidently because that is His promise. Every day is a new day and every day is an opportunity to see Him in ways that will bring us closer to who we are supposed to be with Him, in us. May the LORD be with you all and may He reveal the blessings that are right before you in every moment." ~Shawn Boreta, edifier for Ps139 group

On Trust – by Donna Wright (Testimony Series

On Trust
by Donna Wright© 2012

It hurts to be afraid to trust… but it hurts worse to have your trust betrayed.

Betrayal stabs deep, leaving us feeling a perpetual wound. Crushed under a mountain of emotional pain, is often a reality that the abuser has wiped us out physically, left us exhausted mentally, and stripped us financially down to the bone. We look in the mirror and our eyes swell with tears at our own reflection. The stronghold of FAILURE overcomes us, stomping out our self-esteem as our hearts crumble to dust.  All this from a betrayed trust.

With every aspect of our life destroyed, we struggle to understand what happened. Where did it all go wrong?  Barely holding ourselves together, we painfully pick up the shattered pieces of what is left.

With GOOD reason, our ability to trust is damaged to a point that we may never find the comfort to trust again.  Yet, we need to try. Even through it goes against everything our mind tells us. Trust is a God-given gift that the enemy wants to steel from our lives. One thing we know for certain - we can TRUST GOD 100%. He will NEVER betray us or let us down.

"God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn't change his mind. When he says something, he does it. When he makes a promise, he keeps it." ~Numbers 23:19 (GOD's WORD Translation)

In that, we also know that God created people for fellowship. He longs to bring the security of “trusting” back into your life. He longs to bring you - good, trustworthy relationships and to give you the wisdom to know whom to trust and whom NOT to trust.

If you are struggling with trusting people, you are not alone. There is HOPE to mend your trust, first in God, then with people. Let me encourage you to not allow the pain of betrayal to turn into bitterness. The enemy longs to destroy you, and bitterness only leads to deeper pain.

To begin rebuilding trust, first, search to know God more deeply than you ever have before; through the Bible, prayer, God-centered preaching, and praise. Then, it would be good to find a Godly counselor who will provide a safe place for you to vent and who can help guide you out of this pain.  Finally, step out of the comfort zone and surround yourself with SAFE people by joining a church small group or Bible study that focuses on healing hurts. Once you find these safe places, commit to going regularly whether you feel up to it emotionally or not.

In those moments of growing in God through this agony, ask him to guide your heart OUT of the pain and to bring safe, trustworthy people into your life.  Never give up on healing. Never give up on God.

"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." ~Isaiah 40:8 (New International Version)

Day 972 of Giving Thanks

Our God is bigger... but this world (satan) wants to make you believe the world (satan) is.

He loves us where we are, enough to have died for us, even in our rottenness... and loves us enough to direct and promise we will be perfected; not in this life, but in the next. With Him I stand, because of Him I am and through Him I will be more of Him, less of me. He takes the rottenness of our flesh and covers it with the perfection of His blood. He is all we need and all we will ever need. Let us pray that is truly our hearts' desires as His children. Let us praise that truth in the LORD is an amazing gift.

And someday we will be welcomed into heaven... home!

“[The Birth of Jesus] In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.” Luke 2:1, 4-5 (New International Version)

My heart is expectant, not because it's Christmas, but because Jesus came to save... I am expectant that He is who He says He is. I am expectant that because of Jesus in my life, which only is because He did AND IT IS FINISHED; Jesus is my Savior, my Healer, my EVERYTHING.

May your hearts be filled with the gratitude for what He did, not what others will 'get you'. Let our gifts be those of joy, compassion and tenderness daily.

My heart is breaking in so many ways LORD for others in need. Help me, help us to do what you would do. Help us to give, not what is left over, but what is

CHOICE... you choose how to respond to your weaknesses.

Struggling?
Emotionally wrought?

Choice is a Godly word. Less of self always comes to mind when I am dealing with my depression... but I would never lash out at God for I know that this life is a struggle, when we choose to struggle, but can be an amazing blessing even through times that are not so good.

There is always something to sing praises about when you remove your own feelings from the equation and focus on God and others. Others that is the key; not what they can do for you, not what God does and HAS ALREADY DONE... which in itself floors me and brings me weeping in joy, especially through the emotional down times.

Do not direct your day with your emotions. Use your GPS... God's Purpose and Service.

Use your talents and direct your thoughts to the well-being of others, rather than on yourself. It is very difficult to 'feel sorry' for yourself when you are helping someone else.
His gift to us is faith, as little as we stand in it, we can know that He has given us all that is available to each and every one of us. Noel, He is strong, you are strong because of Him.

Breathe Him in Deeply

In these times, when the enemy whispers and shouts lies to our heart and soul, we must stand firm in faith... know that you are a child of God, His beloved... look to His Word where He promises to never leave and forsake... He has a plan for you... you were created fearfully and wonderfully... Step away from the evil input and into the light. Remember who you are. Allow the Holy Spirit to release all you know about God's love for you. Delete all the crap, and dig deep to find that He is right there waiting for you to CRY OUT in needing heart... quiet the other voices, let God be heard through your thoughts, in your heart... breathe Him in deeply.

Day 971 of Giving Thanks

You never know if you are properly insured UNTIL you try to use the coverage. The one thing about God is you always know His Word is His Word, His grace is sufficient, His mercies are unwarranted, yet everything you need...

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." ~2 Corinthians 12:9-11 (New International Version)

Our home was burglarized yesterday; door kicked in, things thrown all over the place, missing collectibles, all my writing and artwork that was on my laptop and back-up drive, as well as things not noted with our policy. But as my daughter said last night, "Remember that He uses all things for His good!"

I am quite numb and feeling very uneasy today. I spent the day with my worship music on while I cleaned up and get things back in order. Our bedroom, especially my things were rummaged through, certain they were thinking it's the woman who has all the jewelry... wrong.

I had the most uneasy feeling yesterday morning, (I almost stayed home) so much in fact, I went back to the front door and checked it two times before driving off, and then actually turned around 1/8 mile down the hill and re-checked the door... I woke up thinking I felt really funny and wanted to call in sick, but had too much to do... at lunch I got physically ill (like I had been food poisoned) and almost came home, but toughed it out. I had to stop at the store on the way home, so was going to be late, otherwise I would have been home first to see all this, and quite possibly run into the invaders.

I have been on my feet all day, talking to insurance adjusters, listening to saws and drills as the door repairs were completed, and tonight I just want to crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head, but there is still work to be done and preparations to be made. I kept telling myself all day, “keep pushing…” especially when I just wanted to get a few hours more sleep. Tomorrow the ‘things to do’ start all over. And there is fear… fear of leaving the house… What if they return to get what they left? What if I return home and someone is here?

WHAT IF GOD IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS?

Well, He is. And, the enemy will not have my fear… We all have things going on, and most on top of the previous thing going on... just keep in His Word... Let us not walk aimlessly praying to be rescued, but walk victorious because we already were.

My friend Noel Robles share this with me today… “As it says in James 1:2, "Consider it all joy when the times of testing comes".
Yes it may be intimidating! Yes it may seem scary and exciting at the same time! But we cant grow weary for as we gain Endurance we shall lack NOTHING and we will see the Glory of the Lord.”

I will close with this… Do not let the circumstances of your life rule your heart. Let the Creator of the Universe, the Savior of your eternity and the Lover of your soul direct your days.

"The Christian can even welcome trouble When all kinds of trials and temptations crowd into your lives my brothers, don’t resent them as intruders, but welcome them as friends! Realise that they come to test your faith and to produce in you the quality of endurance. But let the process go on until that endurance is fully developed, and you will find you have become men of mature character with the right sort of independence. And if, in the process, any of you does not know how to meet any particular problem he has only to ask God—who gives generously to all men without making them feel foolish or guilty—and he may be quite sure that the necessary wisdom will be given him. But he must ask in sincere faith without secret doubts as to whether he really wants God’s help or not. The man who trusts God, but with inward reservations, is like a wave of the sea, carried forward by the wind one moment and driven back the next. That sort of man cannot hope to receive anything from God, and the life of a man of divided loyalty will reveal instability at every turn.” ~James 1:2-8 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

Another great reminder in Day 520 of Giving Thanks: "I started this day with addressing my Father; “I need You today. I am feeling insecure in my flesh, but know that with Your covering, everything is assured. I am feeling weak in my body, and know that I am strong because You are in me. Father, I need You today; thank You that I don't have to ask, yet You answer the call greatly to be with me.”
Layer upon layer, moment upon moment He, not only stands with me, supporting my stand and clearing the path when I am ready to take that step forward. In the moments that “just don’t make sense”, I am assured that nothing is without a purpose. Just giving things and circumstances the proper time to fulfill His plan is what it takes…
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;” ~Proverbs 3:5 (New International Version)

Day 970 of Giving Thanks

It has been an incredible few days, and there has been much in my heart to be reconciled! I have been praying for clarity and I really believe I heard clearly, “Don’t store your treasures here”. I cannot explain what my ‘treasure’ is right now, but I will say, I really want to hear Him and do what He directs.

I have to remember every day and remind myself through many moments that it is only because of an incredible God and the work of the Spirit in me. I have to tell you, I am quite stubborn and move in the wrong direction more often than not. There is one thing I am greatly certain of is that no matter what happens, as long as I keep my eyes on the right things, my steps will be right as well – my heart will always be corrected because I am greatly loved.

“And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.” ~Colossians 3:2 (Amplified Bible)

Let me continue to hear these words, “God has great plans for you. Don't ever doubt that. He is working you through many of your hang-ups and issues as we speak, so to speak.”

“Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal.” ~ Matthew 6:19 (Amplified Bible)

He will guide you, direct you and help you get through to perfection. You can count on Him.

Are you growing?
Are you reaching for higher ground, while staying firmly grounded?
Are you believing all of God's promises and living like they are true?
Are you allowing your life to be guided by the Spirit through much studying and abiding?
Are you obedient to His instructions?
Are you in need? Then all of the above will help fulfill your every need.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” ~ 2 Peter 3:18 (New International Version)

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."~ Jeremiah 29:11-13 (New International Version)

I believe it's time... let my heart be reconciled!

Day 969 of Giving Thanks

A broken heart's repair comes from breathing Him in wholly and completely...

Believe He's got you.

Leaving me behind LORD to become more of You. I want a heart of worship, a life of praise, an attitude of thankfulness. I want to be more like You LORD!

Let us worship in whole heart, in clear mind and an openness that is new filled with hope and joy of the LORD in us.

"Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.” ~Isaiah 60:1 (New American Standard Bible)

God's changes in us are happening right before us, we either decide to partake in them or fight against them. Many say, "God is not answering my prayer", "God does not care about my problems", "what good is prayer, nothing is going to change anyway"... God says, "He even knows the number of hairs on your head; Come to Me", but mostly we can read, "God so loved the world He sent His only son". We have a God of love, mercy and tenderness.

“So you are a teacher of Israel,” said Jesus, “and you do not recognise such things? I assure you that we are talking about something we really know and we are witnessing to something we have actually observed, yet men like you will not accept our evidence. Yet if I have spoken to you about things which happen on this earth and you will not believe me, what chance is there that you will believe me if I tell you about what happens in Heaven? No one has ever been up to Heaven except the Son of Man who came down from Heaven. The Son of Man must be lifted above the heads of men—as Moses lifted up that serpent in the desert—so that any man who believes in him may have eternal life. For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that every one who believes in him shall not be lost, but should have eternal life. You must understand that God has not sent his Son into the world to pass sentence upon it, but to save it—through him. Any man who believes in him is not judged at all. It is the one who will not believe who stands already condemned, because he will not believe in the character of God’s only Son. This is the judgment—that light has entered the world and men have preferred darkness to light because their deeds are evil. Anybody who does wrong hates the light and keeps away from it, for fear his deeds may be exposed. But anybody who is living by the truth will come to the light to make it plain that all he has done has been done through God.” ~John 3:10-21 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

In salvation, we have eternal hope and assurances for life. In Christ we have daily hope and assurances for change toward perfection in this life. There is nothing more we need to desire - wouldn’t you agree?

“I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.
“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” ~Romans 12:1-2 (Amplified Bible)

Tonight Father, we come to You hopeful and in hope. We stand in Your presence and request Your presence because You promise us life in You and through You, thank You. We praise You for changes made in us, Your children and all the changes yet to be realized. We are grateful for these changes; we thank You for Your amazing assurances and promises. We pray for our brothers and sister, those who struggle to believe, but who are so faithful, we pray for those who have faith in You, yet disbelieve that You are for them. Help us LORD to be wholly Yours, more like You. Keep us looking away from the world, separated from the flesh and keeping our eyes, ears, heart and thoughts toward Your Word. This and all things can be accomplished because of You Father, in the work of the Holy Spirit and through Christ. Amen.

Day 968 of Giving Thanks

"Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself]. And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever." ~1 John 2:15-17 (Amplified Bible)

I am a child of God and so fortunate. Thank You LORD for being the best part of me, and making me the best I can be.

Through the most horrible of situations, when seeking God is the primary objective, amazing outcomes can be seen. I am in one of those right now... actually on the back-end of one. There was a time when this situation was unbearable in many ways, but because I cried out to, and counted on God, there are blessings through my changed attitude, heart and desires to please Him even more.

I love You LORD.

I have been struggling wth my quiet time lately; I am not getting up early enough to get that time in. I am not distracted, or too busy, I am tired; my flesh is not cooperating with the healing I have already received – and I am ready for the manifestation of what the mind is pondering. As I write this, I wonder if God is mostly annoyed or amused by my little faith – either way, I know He loves me and already know my downfalls and faults, and with every challenge, obstacle and mountain to climb, I get better. I know He is with me and guides me through.

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”  ~John 16:33 (Amplified Bible)

I am truly craving His Word – I want to be completely drenched in His Word, to absorb His promises and devour every amazing morsel deep into my soul. I know that I cannot live for Christ rightly without living through the Word. As I sit here, contemplating all of this, I have to stop and dwell in a word that always encourages me and moves me in the right direction.

We should set time aside for God, and we should always know that all our time is God's time anyway. If you are not living for Christ, you may be struggling more than need be. If you are living for Christ, it doesn't mean life will be without struggles, but that you know that you are not alone in them. So in the busy day to day, the struggle of the moment, the moments you need to be comforted, come to Him, praise Him and know that He is right with you.

I was having the old urge to feel guilty for “not doing this, and not doing that, all in the name of Christ…” but I remembered and went to, “I pray to GOD—my life a prayer—and wait for what he'll say and do. My life's on the line before God, my Lord, waiting and watching till morning, waiting and watching till morning.” ~Psalm 130:5-6 (The Message)

Prayers for others can be as simple as remembering their need, and a word to our Father in heaven on their behalf. It does not have to be fancy or eloquent or long, just acknowledge... and trusting the Holy Spirit is our greatest translator. Today and every day I remember, come as you are, but know that if you truly "come to Him", you will be changed forever. I am forever changed… I am forever grateful for change that is, and change that will be.

Tonight Father, I come to You in hope and joy and thanksgiving for Your Word in my life, your promises that are the depth of me. As Your children, we are thankful to be Yours. I lift my brothers and sisters up Abba for this hope to be every present in their hearts and minds. Thank You LORD for giving us hope beyond hope, grace greater than conceivable and your presence that is undeserved and indescribable – show us gracious God how we truly receive through abiding in You. Let us come to You wholly and completely in the perfect salvation through Christ and in Your strength. Amen.

"Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness." ~Romans 10:1-3 (New International Version)
