Day 863 of Giving Thanks

Rejection is a very powerful thing. Rejection can cause people to shut themselves off to the world. It can cause a heart to be broken and dreams to become crushed. As we get older, we grow to know that just because someone rejects us, it’s not the end of the world. However when you are a child, it’s not so easy to see that.

My daughter is an artist. I am so amazed at the things that come out of her brain and leap onto the paper. A scribble leads to an amazing landscape or story. At 12, she is wise beyond her years. However, as an artist, she is vulnerable and sensitive and puts a piece of her into ever drawing that she creates.

This past week, the youth group at our church held an event to raise money for the church and showcase the talents of the youth. They had an art exhibit in which my daughter selected 4 pieces of work to show. One, she had worked on for an entire month. She was full of hope and excitement and anticipation of winning something at the show.

But, this was not meant to be. She came home in tears and spent the night crying in her room. She felt rejected and her dreams were killed. It is easy to hug her and tell her how amazing she is, It’s easy to remind her of all the many compliments that people have given her over her work, but unless she feels those things, everything I tell her is hot air.

Which leads me to God. I don’t how many times I have heard Him tell me how special I am. When I am drowning in my emotional rejection from the world, I don’t allow myself to hear the things God tells me. In His word, it is written:

“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
       you formed me in my mother's womb.
   I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking!
      Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
      I worship in adoration—what a creation!
   You know me inside and out,
      you know every bone in my body;
   You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
      how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
   Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
      all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
   The days of my life all prepared
      before I'd even lived one day.”~Psalm 139:13-16 (The Message Bible)

When we know who we are in Christ, then our focus will be on God’s approval, not our own, or the people around us. God doesn’t reject us. He gave us this life to use it to glorify His name. We are saved and we are made new in Him. Our job is to motivate and encourage others, to build one another up and not tear each other down.

“God didn't set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we're awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we're alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you'll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you're already doing this; just keep on doing it.” ~1 Thessalonians 5:9 (The Message Bible)

Remember, next time you are rejected by the world, that Jesus was already rejected. It was because of this rejection that He shed His blood on the cross so that we can have life in Him. He claimed victory over death and He will come again and judge us all. When you look in the mirror and wish your hair was different or you that your body looked different or whatever negative thing you see staring back at you, remember that God made you. God doesn’t make mistakes and He loves you just as you are. Don’t tell yourself you are not good enough because someone has rejected you. Love yourself, the way God has love you. Hold your head up high and say “I am a creation of God! I am fearfully and wonderfully made! I am made in His image and God knows what He is doing!!!

So, as for my daughter, we had a rejection celebration day. Rather than allowing her to wallow in self pity, we went out and had a mother/daughter date and although we acknowledge what she was feeling, we made the conscious choice to celebrate the day!

Lord, sometimes, the lessons in life can be hard. Sometimes, our feelings are hurt and we feel like giving up. Lord, thank you for your gifts and for blessing us with your love and your mercy and grace. Thank you for the blessing in my daughter and help me to show her just how incredible she is. Thank you Lord, Amen.

Day 862 of Giving Thanks


As I sat in the chair waiting for the towel too be pulled off my head, I couldn't help but think oh my goodness, what have I done! What is my husband going to think? As the towel was taken off and I saw the color, the panic set in....oh dear, I look like Raggedy Ann! Gone were the concerns of my mother in law and my best friend and their recent cancer diagnosis, gone were the thoughts of my dear friend whose grandmother is fading away fast, gone were my husbands vents about work and my struggles to get my school work caught up!


I had a panic attack sitting in the chair....over something as petty as hair color. I had been treated to a day at the salon. My daughter told the stylist "make sure you do something that's makes her outside look like her inside, something fun!"

As I sat there trying to take this all in, I realized just how vain I was in that moment. Its just hair....it can be changed...but cancer can't, death can't, job loss can't.

According to my daughter, my outside now matches my inside....fun, fearless, full of love and Joy. I took a chance and I'll probably do it again. But what I realized is God loves me regardless of my hair and I had such a wonderful opportunity to minister to the stylist who was really in need of a non judgmental ear.......and there are more important things happening in this world too be concerned about than my hair!

But, I kept hearing that little voice in my head saying “This is ridiculous, you look ridiculous! How is anyone going to take you seriously with hair like that? You are a Christian woman and Christian women do not have hair like that, you are going to be a disgrace and you won’t be able to go to church now…people are going to look at you and laugh.”

For the rest of the time I spent in the salon, that voice and those words kept running around in my head. As I saw the stylist, who had  just finished revealing her life story to me over the past 2 hours, start to panic and worry, I kept telling her it was not her fault. I had asked for fun and intense and that’s what she gave me. She is so gifted and passionate about her work. She takes her clients feelings so seriously. She kept reassuring me that we could tone it down and change it…anything to make me happy. It was at that moment that I looked into her eyes and looked into the mirror and I realized, I can make this work. Life is about taking chances and this was a big one. When my daughter and husband got there to pick me up, they both smiled. My daughter started crying because she loved it so much and couldn’t stop hugging the stylist.

I also realized this evening, that we are all made for a purpose. Those thoughts that had been swimming around my head were discouraging me from that purpose. The only look that a Christian should have is the look of Christ. We are all made differently, in different skins and different colors. My daughter was right, our outsides should match our insides. When people look at me they should see God and that’s all.

Yes, life would be easier if I could just lock myself up in my home and only surround myself with Christian friends. But, then I wouldn’t be able to witness or talk to people who have no idea who God is…or those that don’t even want to listen. I am human, the enemy will attack and the more doors I close, the harder it will be for him. Today, I had to crucify my flesh in a new way…but I did it. God gave me the strength to realize my life was not over because of a fun hair color. No, He showed me how I can use this to embrace life and people and maybe even, reach a group of people I never would have been able to talk to before!!!

Lord, thank you for today. Thank you for showing me how to crucify my flesh and be in the world but not of the world. Thank you for revealing my flaws and helping me work on them. Thank you for being so present in my life and allowing myself to see others through your eyes. Lord, you are the most important thing in my life and I want so badly, for others to have that intimate relationship with you. Thank you for helping me get over myself and focus on what was more important. Lord, please be with the stylist today. Lord, you know her pains and her confusion in life. Lord, you have given her a tremendous gift and an even bigger heart. Show her how she can use that gift to better your kingdom. Help her to see how she can have that relationship with her. Lord, bless her beyond her wildest dreams and be the best mom she can be! Thank you Lord, Amen!

Day 861 of Giving Thanks

Solomon said that there is nothing new under the sun. When we see what is happening throughout the world today, do you think we should be concerned and take an active role?

Suppose for a moment that no one reads the Bible and only depends on world leaders, religious and secular, to give us information on how we should conduct our lives. Everything we believe would come from what we hear and see within the media, regardless of the source, and so our thoughts and actions would be completely guided through mind control placed upon us through such things as education, entertainment through music and movies, and deception through the governments and false teachings within the church.

In reality though, we have the opportunity to not only read the Bible but to study the word of God, so that we can apply discernment through the gift of His Holy Spirit. When we read the events of both the Old and New Testaments we can confirm that there is nothing new, only repetition of the same mistakes made over and over again. God knows our flesh and that is why He sent His Son to pay the ultimate price for us to gain salvation through His mercy and grace.

My point is this: World events come as no surprise to God. He has foreseen them. He is always sovereign over them. Jesus , as well as Paul in his letters to the churches, along with many other verses warn us not to be deceived by bad leaders and false teachers. This tells us that we are to be aware and active. 

Painters can be inspired by the sunset. Poets can be inspired by the person they love. Young people can be inspired by great athletes. But the inspiration God provided the writers of Scripture is quite different. 

Why study the Bible? Because the Scriptures, although penned by the hands of men, are the very Word of God. To fully and accurately understand Scripture's truths, then we must receive illumination or enlightenment by the Holy Spirit, the divine quickening of the human mind. Only the Holy Spirit can enable us to understand the truth that has been revealed and communicated by the power of God. When reading the Bible we should always seek wisdom from the Holy Spirit and ask that He open our minds and hearts to recognize and understand what God is telling us. 

Do these things and God will guide you in the role He desires you to play in this world of which we belong, though temporary, all the same, we are here to do God's work. Do these things and you will not be deceived in the ways of the world but you will conquer in the ways of God.

Day 860 of Giving Thanks

God makes beauty out of what we see as messes.


"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." ~Proverbs 3:5 (New International Version)

It is amazing how God takes us on a journey that makes no sense to us in the moment. In the big picture our lives become a beautiful mural of colorful patterns that make perfect sense and glorify the painter, God.

“Eeeeeeee!” Joey screeched out an ear rattling pitch.  The other children in the classroom covered their ears.

“Eeeeeeee!” As soon as he stopped to take a breath, I interjected praise. “I like the way you’re being quiet right now.” 

“Eeeeeeee!” he screamed.

Another lull as he inhaled. “1, 2… Good quiet”


Joey looked at me and yelled, “I’m mad. I’m not quiet.”


“I like the way you’re using your words to tell me you’re mad.” 


“I hate math.” 

“Oh, you hate math. Now I understand. Thanks for telling me.” I said nodding my head and moving closer to him.

“Eeeee!” Joey stopped and stared at me, not sure what to do next. I took the opportunity to put a paper with three math problems in front of him. “Do you want to do number one or number two first?”

Joey has autism and part of my job is to find ways for Joey to function in the least restrictive environment and grow socially and academically. .

How did I learn how to do this? By following the path God set before me and giving credit where credit is due. God is in control, leading, guiding and blessing. I just say yes and take action.

Many years ago, I received multiple head injuries and worried I might have some learning disabilities. My confidence in my ability to do great things for God was at an all time low. As I faced many learning challenges each day, I asked God why my life was so hard. I’m very head strong, so when I believe I have to do something, I set my mind to it and find a way.  I learned I needed people to tell me instructions in a very structured A–B-C manner. So I would tell people that were teaching me to do something to be very specific and detailed in the methods they used to teach me. I created a home environment that was very therapeutic with low lighting, soft colors and rather quiet (for the most part), so when I came home from holding it together all day I had a safe sanctuary that brought peace back to my soul. As a dancer, I also noticed that although I had trouble with memorization, if I put movement to something I could memorize it completely and correctly.

Professionally, God lead me to the field of Special Education and then specifically Autism. I found that many of the strategies I used for myself were also helpful for others.  I learned more about autism and my career opportunities opened up in that area. I became a leader in home and parent training for a school district. While there, I was offered another job as an   Autism Program Coordinator for another district. I told them I wasn’t qualified because one of the job qualifications was to have a Master’s degree, which I didn’t have. They hired me anyway.

God gave me the opportunity to go back to school and get my Master’s degree though it was hard; I learned to rely on God and grew in faith. Just when I needed to know something, I would learn it in school or a seminar. If I didn’t see what I needed to do, God quickened it to my mind.  Every day, I could see Him working in my life, teaching me the skills to work in the lives of others.

Children like Joey, his parents and his teachers face insurmountable challenges daily.   It is amazing how the strategies I have learned in college and on the job had made such a difference.  None of this could have happened without God’s guidance.  Each of these precious children blesses those around them with lessons and love every day.  Though there are frustrations, communication issues and behavioral challenges, each barrier can be overcome. Seeing the person blossom into all that God has for them and those around them is truly an honor to witness and participate in.  I thank God daily for the hardships in my own life that have led me to the opportunity to serve families and children who suffer the challenges in Autism.  I praise God for each tear of joy that comes when a milestone of success is achieved.

God makes beauty out of what we see as messes.   These lives being painted onto colorful murals of emotion and experience leave us speechless, knowing we have witnessed yet one more miracle of life each day.

Cynde Hauser lives in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex of North Texas. She works in a public school district as an Autism Program Coordinator. Cynde Has a Bachelor’s of Social Work and a Master’s of Special Education with graduate certificates in Autism Intervention and Behavior Analysis.

She has seven daughters and eleven grandchildren two dogs and a cat. She loves the Lord and serves as a volunteer for Global Scope Ministries, Victim Relief Ministries and at her church Rapha Life Center.

Day 859 of Giving Thanks

I am grateful that I am inspired daily and today as I read many of our ministry pages, I was overjoyed with the amazing and wonderful writers. These writers are real, like everyone, they have problems and suffer heartache, yet bring to life the gospel through their encouraging words. Now, I know that these words are given through physical, emotional and spiritual attacks. But because hope is in God, and the eternal work of Jesus, circumstances can be worked through. All things are possible and through all things, God’s goodness will shine through (Matthew 19:26 and Romans 8:28).

My friends, this life is hard. We will go through storms, be hindered by past thoughts, become physically incapable and find ourselves in doubt, BUT it doesn't have to be that way. We can ask God to reveal the good in all situations, and when He does, we have to be willing to see things differently. 

Sometimes we focus on all the things in our life. Today, I encourage you to focus on God and gratitude, and you will see your life change. I have been doing so for three years, and although I have seen much loss and illness, I see Him (God) in so much. Everyday, I remember that He Created me, focus on why I am grateful (eternally grateful) and I watch my days move in amazing ways.

The enemy will tell you how "great" your life was before Jesus... and many will believe. Now, I am not saying you will no longer be God's, but know this, the enemy loves to see us doubt and hold onto our past. The enemy loves for us to keep quiet, not minister to others. You life will never be perfect, and you will always need to improve, so don't let your abilities discourage you, Let the Holy Spirit encourage you. There are endless possibilities in the LORD.

“Jesus looked steadily at them and replied, “Humanly speaking it is impossible; but with God anything is possible!”” ~Matthew 19:26 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

I think back to when my life revolved around me, and I rejoice in the revolution in my heart. Today, everything I do revolved around my mighty God. Will I fall, falter and fail, yes... but I know who will pick me up, who will make my steps firm and who won for me already. There is victory to be realized, and joy to live out in knowing "who" did all things for you to live. Today I live and look forward in gratitude for amazing hope.

We have all been disappointed in our life, but I have learned that God will not disappoint, yet He will appoint the time, place and purpose for all things. I am learning that if I remember that, all is good. Oh yes, my God is good.

“And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose, because those whom he foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he should be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined, these he also called, and those whom he called, these he also justified, and those whom he justified, these he also glorified.” ~Romans 8:28-30 (Lexham English Bible)

Day 858 of Giving Thanks

I accepted a challenge to give GOD thanks for 30 days. To find the good in every day and just thank him, I looked up the words give and thanks and found two definitions that I liked. The word give means to accord or yield to another and the word thanks means an expression of gratitude. So to give GOD thanks means to yield to him an expression of gratitude daily. The word Give Thanks appears in the bible over 25 times, for it to be present in the word of GOD that many times means that Giving Thanks is very important.

As I sit here and look at my situations and circumstances the enemy makes it look as if I have NOTHING to be thankful for. I am currently unemployed due to an illness; I was diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular disease in April of 2011. I am a single mother of three who relies on the kindness of my mother to support and provide for me and my children. What do I have to be thankful for?

I thank Him for the provisions of his promises. I thank Him for supplying ALL my needs. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. For truly he is my Jehovah-Jireh (My provider). I thank him for his grace that is sufficient for me and his strength that is made perfect in my weakness (literally). 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. I thank him for his unfailing love, for his holy spirit which leads and guides me. I thank him for his word that cleanses and strengthens me. I thank him for his tangible presence that is very real in my life. I have to even thank him for my illness because truly this trial has brought me closer to him and I am beginning to know him in ways that I have not known him before.

I understand that giving thanks to GOD daily is a decision, it is a lifestyle and it is a challenge and a journey that I look forward to. Someone once told me that I have the heart of a worshiper and I worship and give god praise in spite of and now I am going to practice giving him thanks in spite of because there is good to be found in every situation and circumstances of life.

My Prayer of Thanks
Lord I thank you for being more than enough for me.

I thank you for your Grace that is sufficient for me; I thank you for your strength, which sustains me in my times of weakness. I thank you for your love that never fails.

I thank you for word and the provision of your promises that I stand on daily. Father God as I go throughout my day I ask that you bring

To my remembrance all that you have done and all that you are and will do.

And teach me to give thanks to you daily on a day to day basis.

In Jesus name Amen.

Day 857 of Giving Thanks by Tina Wetor

When the pressures of life mount against us, we have two options: either let it mount or let it go.  Usually we allow the pressures to mount, so we unfortately start getting a sour attitude towards family, friends, or co-workers.  Although we have give all of our best efforts, we still fall short.

As I went to church this morning, my heart was filled with mounted issues with life.  All of the household chores, financial concerns, family,  and issues at work started overwhelming me.  With all of my best effort, I was starting to come un-glued.  My patience was very thin, guilt was whispering doubt about who I was, and my strength was gone until God arrived.

God inhabits the praise of His people, He enjoys dwelling with them.  As the worship service began, I could feel the Lord's presence.  As my heart was being pulled to enter, the tears trickled down upon my face.  All I could do was cry before Him and adore Him.  As I worshipped the Lord, I could feel the pressures slowly lifting from my heart.

In His presence is fullness of joy, so why do we always cut it short?  Anyway, as my heart was being lifted, I couldn't help but notice a sweet wind surrounding me.  As I worshipped Him, I felt so free.  Although my heart was broken, my spirit melted into His hands.  Rest will not come until there is complete surrender.  The weight will hold you until you lay it down at the feet of Jesus.

Worship wasn't made for us to "feel good" it' s purpose is to center our lives on what matters-God.  As our hearts are center on Him, He will keep us.  God will keep us in perfect peace who's mind is on Him.  Peace isn't found in anyone else but Christ, He is the Prince of Peace.

When the presence of God truly comes, our lives will be re-arranged.  Sadly, we don't keep an attitude of worship daily within our lives, so we become overwhelmed.  If life is getting the best of you, get the best of it by worshipping God.  He is greater.  Nothing can defeat Him.

As the perfume filled the room, she caught the attention of all.  She offered the most precious gift, an expensive perfume poured out on His feet.  Although others rebuked her worship, Jesus accepted it.  Although her life was overwhelmed with care, her tears flowed upon His feet.  She tries to wipe the tears with her hair but it's useless.  Her heart is overwhelmed, so she worships Him.  It's interesting, the Bible says, "She will always be remembered for her gift."  (Luke 7:36-39; Matthew 26:7-13)

Worship isn't about us, it's about Christ.  As we pour ourselves upon His feet, He sees our need.  Although the tears mount, we patiently listens with tenderness.  He doesn't rush us, He allows us to be emptied so He can pour Himself back into us.  He is our strength.  So, go to Jesus.  Pour out your heart, He is waiting for your worship.  Even if it comes with brokeness and tears, He will receive it.

Day 856 of Giving Thanks by Darci Escandon

There are days where I really don’t want to exercise. Sometimes, I’m tired or other times, I’m feeling just plain lazy. We all know the physical benefits of exercising, that’s obvious but, do we know the emotional and mental benefits of exercise?
Exercise helps so many things…but most importantly, it helps our minds the most.

2 Timothy 1:7 says (New King James Version)

“For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of Power, Love and a SOUND MIND”.

Other Bible versions such as The New Living Translation write:

“For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE AND SELF DISCIPLINE”

The things that jump at me from this verse are that God has given me everything I need to get through life. The enemy attacks our mind on a daily basis. God knows this. We are told we have to renew our minds on a daily basis:

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” Romans 12:2 (New American Standard Bible)


“that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of our mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.” Ephesians 4:22-24 (New American Standard Bible)

So, we know we are instructed in what we need to do, but, how do we do it when the world feels like it is crashing down on us? How do we renew our minds when that panic attack comes or we are fearful and stressed out about a situation?

Obviously, we need to study our Bible. Knowing what is in between the pages of this amazing book allows us to grow in our relationship with God. Reading His word and studying it is one of the most important things we can do. When we cry out Gods word to the enemy, he has no choice but to tuck tail and turn away. God’s word is that powerful. The mind is definitely, the devil’s playground and we need to guard it at all times.

What does that have to do with 2 Timothy 1:7 and exercise? More than you can possibly know.

In the verse, we are told that God does not give us the spirit of fear. So when we feel that anxiety or stress coming on, we can recognize that this feeling is not a spirit of God. No, God gives us power over that. He gives us the spirit of power over fear, power of love so that we can love ourselves and others and most importantly, He gives us self discipline so that we can study His word and live the lifestyle He wants us to lead and the power of a sound mind so that we do not have to be a slave do self defeating thoughts. With a sound mind, we can hear His voice and know which thoughts are from God and which thoughts are from the enemy.

What does exercise have to do with all that? Everything. When you exercise, your mind is filled with endorphins and it is practically impossible to feel stressed, depressed or anxious after a good workout. Exercise helps clear your mind of the mess of thoughts that may be running through it and it also helps your body stay healthy. It helps us to treat our bodies as a temple, just as God has instructed us.

So, when things are going bad or I’m feeling overwhelmed, I know that if I turn to God’s word and get up and start moving around, I can deal with the things that the world wants to throw at me. It’s so much easier to take medication and become a slave to circumstance and laziness. Being of strong mind takes time and practice and ultimate faith in God. It’s not an overnight solution and in the age of instant gratification and “Me now!” ideals, working hard towards mental health is not something that many people want to spend the time to do.

Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for your motivation and for showing me just how much you care. Lord, thank you for giving me the power to overcome any situation and circumstance that the world throws my way. Thank you for showing me how to renew my mind and become totally dependent upon you. You are my rock, my strength and I am nothing without you. I love you Lord, thank you thank you thank you! Amen

Day 857 of Giving Thanks

Today as I started the day, I found that I was a little out of sorts and my first thought was, “Lord, I am just a bit overwhelmed at this moment”. Sometimes it takes time for the events of our life to sink in. As I spent time dwelling in the amazing things of God, I found myself lifted. As the music filled my senses, I found comfort in the morning and quickly moved from overwhelmed to be over filled. Isn’t that what we live for?

“Those who stand firm during testing are blessed. They are tried and true. They will receive the life God has promised to those who love him as their reward.” ~James 1:12 (Common English Bible)

Every part of my life is a witness of faith. And, through every thought, I can make it a day of edification and encouragement or a day to forget greatly. My life if precious, my Savior proved that by dying so that I can live. I am blessed in ways that could be missed if the Holy Spirit is in the background of my life, rather than the center of my existence.

Who witnesses? We all do. We are the church, we witness through our lives, not our associations. People see us individually and either are attracted or confused or appalled or disinterested.  We witness through the Holy Spirit in us and all things of God.  We are not to compromise.

God did not compromise the work on or value of the Sacrifice of Jesus, why are so many adding to what is required? We cannot do anything to earn our way into heaven, but when we realize the work He did for us, we will appear to be working our way in. WE DO BECAUSE OF WHAT Jesus did ALL that was necessary... He did because we COULD NOT do what was required.

There are many reasons to believe. We have an amazing God who speaks directly to each one of us in profound ways. A question I ask myself, “How do you show others that you belong to God?” For me the answer only comes from the Holy Spirit.

My heart is in anguish tonight as I watch the LORD's words twisted, and used in ways that we all know broke our Lord Jesus' heart as He hung on the cross, these sins that He knew about, and are occurring now. I pray daily to be strengthened by what I see, and I always go back to why we believers are all able to be at peace in so many ways as the world spins in chaos all around us. The ways of the enemy are slick, sound good and packaged nicely. May we all be aware as we witness, share and observe this life around us. Father I pray for protection and wisdom for my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray for discernment of the Holy Spirit and boldness to stand firm in all circumstances for our faith. I pray for all those who are broken and shattered in this fallen world that they too will be at peace. I pray mighty and perfect God for our hearts to not be deceived and wholly committed to the truth. I pray for Your people to stand out, stand up and stand firm in all things of You. Mightily and boldly, we pray in Jesus' name. Thank You amazing Savior. Amen.

Isn't it amazing how God works? I woke up worried about my own circumstances and moments and now I am drawn to the concerns of God's people. Thank You LORD for reminding me that it is not about me at all. Thank You that it is about You.

Day 854 of Giving Thanks

Lifting my eyes up to the heavens so often during my day and throughout all my moments, knowing that it is You LORD I will see.

“God loves you so much. He loves you now and has since the beginning of time. John 3:16 says, He loved you so much that He sent His son. The Word is His love letter, instructions and encouragement to us all. Jesus is our Savior and the hero of Bible. "This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Beginning everyday in gratitude starts with knowing why I am grateful. Today and everyday it is the Spirit in me that I hold onto greatly, the promise of eternity with Him and the FACT that He loves me more than I can ever comprehend. Living my life in today, knowing that only Jesus holds tomorrow, and yesterday has passed.

Are you in the Word, or waiting for others to throw you a bone, or their scraps? That works for a while, but you will never hear all of what God has or know all of what He is for you without going to His Word. Wouldn’t you agree, that it's time to sit down, open His Word and read, pray, ponder and ask questions of the Holy Spirit? Isn’t it time to allow God to reveal for you what He will and wills for your life?

Learning to "pay attention" to the details and not shut down during tough times ONLY comes when I "pay attention" to the LORD's instructions and showing the love the LORD in me toward those who do not know Jesus. Our ministry is a ministry of action and compassion, not words and lectures. Father, I pray that I can love tenderly and pay attention to all the details. Teach me Holy Spirit to be aware of all the moments to shine. Teach me to know when to be still, be quiet and when to share You. In this life guide me to dwell in You so that I am wholly attractive because of You in me to those who have yet to know You. I pray for them in You Lord Jesus, in Your name and through Your hope that their names will be written in the book of life, and know hope in You. That is my daily, and many moments through the day prayer. All in You Jesus we hope and trust. Amen.

It is through my prayers, study, correction and intercession that I learn and grow stronger in the LORD. We are only wise in the Spirit. We can only confirm through getting to know God through the amazing power of the Holy Spirit. My prayer daily is for the LORD to keep me humble, whatever that takes. I depend daily on the work of the Holy Spirit in me and the grace of a mighty God to sustain that humility.

Day 853 of Giving Thanks

My life is a prayer”, is my ultimate ambition. It’s what I truly desire. I know that in the middle of all turbulence, turmoil and storms, prayer is the only thing that will give me hope and is the only hope for answers. In this life, we pursue many things. What I am learning is that we are not to pursue anything unless we do it with the Holy Spirit in the lead. When things in my life seem more than I can endure, I know that I have all the help I need. I am grateful that this help comes through the simple thought or cry out to the LORD, “Hello God”, works just fine.

Father into Your presence I step with a thought, a desire and calm. Let me know You are here, not just because I read so, but because I sense You. Give me strength to face this day, as well as the next. Help me to live in the hope of all that You are, all that You have done and all that I am because of Your work. Let me see hope in all things and circumstances. I am weary and tired LORD, but with You I am more than able to do all things, according to Your will. Today is another day to be lived out in hope. Hope in You for all things, thank You Jesus, for it's only with You and in You it's possible. Amen.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." ~Hebrews 12:2 (New International Version)

You are here LORD, and I am grateful. I am learning to recognize You more and more. Thank You that Your presence is a fact, and not a feeling. Thank You that I can trust You and be with You at any moment, in every moment.

Nothing has changed, but everything has changed. He is still my healer, and I am learning every day to trust in Him more. In this life or the next, my healing is complete, so it doesn't really matter as long as I remember where my hope is, right? Right!!

I just want to be available God, help me through the Holy Spirit to set boundaries and come to You more.


Let my life be a prayer.

"Lord, heal me and I will be completely well; rescue me and I will be perfectly safe. You are the one I praise!" Jeremiah 17:14 (Good News Translation)

Amazing people of God, we stand together in hope of restoration of our families and restoration of our hearts. There have been so many losses among your people LORD and we want and need to stand together in agreement that You have the power and strength and desire to bring us through. Show us where we can see You more, how we can hear You more clearly and love others in the same love that You love us. Give us strength and courage to step into each day. We love You Father and trust all of our worries, concerns and hurts to Your healing and repair. Give us wisdom to speak through the Holy Spirit and act in Your will and power. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.


Let my life be a prayer.

Let me truly see all of my life through the eyes of the Holy Spirit in me. Let me be truly grateful for all that comes my way, good or bad; joyful or sad. Let me truly be available to provide the prayer for those in need, let me remember to praise in all that is present in my life, for I know that You are truly present.

Day 852 of Giving Thanks

My days are spent learning to recognize and practicing what I have learned - that He is everything I need to rejoice in all things. I am so grateful for all things in my life, ALL THINGS. “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” ~Philippians 4:4 (New International Version)

You are here LORD, and I am grateful. I am learning to recognize You more and more. Thank You that Your presence is a fact, and not a feeling. Thank You that I can trust You and be with You at any moment, in every moment.

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. ” ~Ephesians 3:16-19 (New International Version)

God is active in His tabernacle and with God, there are miracles within me. Yes Lord, than You for reminding me, that any day and every day is a great day because of my 24/7 companion of the Holy Spirit.

"For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call." ~Romans 11:29 (Amplified Bible)

Base your actions on facts, not feelings.
FACT - as a child of God you have all we need to sustain us.
FACT - you are loved beyond measure and comprehension.
FACT - you are never alone.
FACT - Jesus is your King and died for you.
FACT - you have access to your Creator 24/7.

“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]." ~Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Bible)

Whatever the valley, know that the mountaintop is yours for the climbing. Often times we sit on the valley floor and look up in envy to those climbing the mountain. Rather than looking at those on the top or making the climb look to your heavenly Father, who will lift you up and help you arrive. For it is only God, through the blood of Jesus we accomplish all that is worth keeping. We strive in Him and get all we desire according to His will. Just my thoughts today, as I look up to Him, admiring Him, desiring His loving arms around me... the fact is He is right here with us now, when we know Him, accept Him and obey Him, everything is possible, especially the mountaintop.

“[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. Day 851 of Giving Thanks

...excerpt from His Gift (written for Robin Prater's Thursday's Treasure by Shawn Boreta)

TREASURE HIS GIFT
There are T.remendous assurances in God’s Word, but only when R.ead with the eyes of the Holy Spirit. In the beginning of my faith, but way into my God-journey, I discovered immediately the hope of His gift and the E.ncouragement through His Word. As I set out on learning who I am in Christ, there has been discovery upon discovery of the many gifts I never knew I had. Writing came in an A.mazing way – I was never a writer, in fact, I could not pass the college entry exam due to my writing and comprehension abilities and was encouraged to choose a profession that did not include writing. Now looking at that miracle truly brings a S.mile to the deepest part of my soul. Through writing, I heal, through sharing, what He gives through the keyboard encourages others; as I grow toward healing I too am greatly encouraged. What an U.nending blessing this has been in my life, because through this I have learned to live in manner which truly R.eflects gratitude. There is no other way I would want to live, I have tried the other way, and living in gratitude and E.nveloping all that He has for me has defined truth greater than any other experience.

The moment I chose Jesus, I was H.ealed and I am lovingly and tenderly I.nterceded for greatly and often as I live in this broken world, full of the sick and needy. Now, this assurance and love is available to all, but few will take Him in. And, out of those who believe, most won’t take Him at His word and promises. S.alvation is the beginning and when we wholly and completely realize what Jesus did, what God planned all along for us, it is also the ‘in between’ for what He finished.

Living comes through dying. For me to live completely in G.ratitude for what He did for me, I have to realize what the cost truly is, and the I.mportance of His work. We are F.orever His and that is truly a T.remendous gift.

My life in words has been God’s greatest gift to me. Every day I am encouraged, and my hope daily is that I can honor Him as I write, hope, share and believe even more.

Day 850 of Giving Thanks by Tina Wetor

When the house is clean, life can be in order.  Unorganization, dirt, and piles of laundry stand between the destination of an orderly week, so the family must help.  As the family works together, it brings peace, love, and the ability to learn to serve.  Besides praying together, a family needs to serve each other to bring unity.

As the house glisten with clean windows, mopped floors, and sparkling dishes-it brought a truth close to the heart.  When our hearts are filled with anxiety, worry, or sin it doesn't take long for life to be out of order.  The disfunction of daily life causes the heart to lose focus and meaning until the heart is placed in order.  It gets tiresome or overwhelming to see the depth of dirt, we can't be free until we deal with it.

As a mother with three kids, it doesn't take long for dirt to grow.  If anything it multiplies.  Yet, the beautiful mystery of the blood of Christ, one drop is only need to transform a sinner.  All of the guilt, shame, and condemnation is erased because Christ paid for it.  Earlier in the week, I used a precious gift from my husband, the Bible on CD.  Instead of listen to worship music or enjoying the silent drive, I decided to listen to the Word.  As I listen to one of great letters of Paul, my heart was overwhelmed of the depth of the power of the cross.

"When you were dead in your sins  and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ .  He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code , with its regulations that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross ." ~Colossians 2:13-14 (New International Version)

We are alive in Christ, dead to sin.  Although sin entrapped our lives with it's weight and deception, Christ canceled it.  OH, PRAISE THE LORD!!  When we come to Christ not only are we a new creature, the penalty is paid.  Our lives do not have to be filled with guilt or shame, we just have to be willing to deal with the dirt.  Usually in our homes, we have to use numerous items to get the job done.  Yet, our hearts only need to surrender to the redeeming love of Christ to be clean.

When the Lord reveals our sin, He comes to our aid.  We don't have to be overwhelmed with a load of care.  We can leave it at the cross.  We are washable!  It reminds me of what I tell my children when they come with a dirty shirt, "Don't worry, I can get the stain out!"

My friend, what's got your heart down tonight? What's staining your heart?  Come to Jesus, He is the only who can get the stain out.

Day 849 of Giving Thanks by Darci Escandon

“Life just gets in the way!!!” I really have come to dislike that saying. I hear my friends say it, my family says it… and now, even I am saying it. I have every intention of doing the things I want to do, but life still gets in the way. I want to be faithful to my commitments, but sometimes, there are a few that have to take the back seat and I hate that feeling. Trying to pick and choose what I can and can’t do. What I can and can’t commit to. I want to be faithful in everything… but I guess, life does get in the way.

Then I think of something I read in the book of Psalms which says:

“"But I will never stop loving Him nor fail to keep my promise to Him.” ~Psalm 89:33 (New Living Translation)

I love God. I made a promise to Him the day I was born again. I promised to live my life for Him. I must love God in everything and every situation. I made a promise to make Him first, at all times. I am so grateful that Life doesn’t get in the way for God. Can you imagine what this world would be like if it did? If God made excuses for not doing what He said He would do??? We must find balance in our world. Lord, I need balance in my life!

I am drawn to the story of Mary and Martha. Jesus was coming to visit and Martha was too busy to meet him at the door.  Author Warren W. Wiersbe  says “Perhaps in all of our busyness, we have been ignoring the Lord. Martha’s problem was not that she had too much work to do, but that she allowed her work to distract her and pull her apart. She was trying to serve two masters!”[1]

““As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”” ~Luke 10:38–42, New Living Translation

I don’t want to be a Martha. I don’t want to get so caught up in life that I forget what life is really about!!!

Lord, life gets crazy. The enemy wants me to feel overwhelmed…he wants me to bite off more than I can chew…but the busier I am, the less I can do your will. Lord, help me to find the balance. Help me to find out how I can just get through Life without it getting in the way. Lord, I want to serve you, I want to carry your word to those that don’t see you or believe in you. Lord, I want to be the person you created me to be.

Day 848 of Giving Thanks

My prayer most days is that I can let things go until I am certain of a circumstance. Are you a worrier? Worrier should actually be spelled W.A.R.R.I.O.R!

As I come to You Father, I remove all that is not edifying to You or edifying to my faith. I W.ait to hear your A.mazing voice. In these many moments of waiting on You, I R.ealize that You have always been here, and it’s me that must be waited upon. The R.eality of my life now, from where I was, as a worrier can be I.llustrated daily as I ponder You and desire You even more. My life is forever changed. In the many moments of O.verflowing grace and R.elief from this world, I am assured even more. I know the fight is Yours Lord and already won – but I am here standing in prayer, a warrior for Christ. In Christ’s strength and in His name, my life is a prayer. Amen.

I am waiting on God in so many ways, when really He is waiting on me most of the time. I am really struggling to process the several things that are placed before me. I have piled grief up in the corner as I deal with yet more. Really, the struggle is yet another reason to pray, trust and believe.

"He is the Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are law and justice. A God of faithfulness without breach or deviation, just and right is He." ~Deuteronomy 32:4 (Amplified Bible)

I am daily comforted knowing that there will be a time without the pains of this world, but there are moments when the thought of yet one more, takes my breath away. Of the many lessons I have received, in this ‘I am learning’ life, is to look at things differently, to move and adjust accordingly to see the blessings, lessons or correction in every situation.

I am learning.... my favorite statement, often times trials are what we make them out to be. I have been dealing with some things physically, and there is a "on one hand..." and "on the other hand..." things that have popped into my head. Now, I ask myself, "are either of these true?" Well, I don't know yet. So (BIG SO HERE) do I worry about one or the other, both or wait patiently as the facts unfold?

There is one thing I can do no matter what the outcome, and that is praise the LORD for having me right where I am, for I can trust that He is in control, knows my heart, knows the challenges I am having and is here through it all.

No words... just silence with my heavenly Father. Anyone else there right now? I am letting the quiet and prayers of my heart lay out before me, before my King.

Today, I decide to manifest praise and worship, rather than worry and fret.

“Now to him who by his power within us is able to do far more than we ever dare to ask or imagine—to him be glory in the Church through Jesus Christ forever and ever, amen!” ~Ephesians 3:20-21 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

Day 847 of Giving Thanks

As I listen to those around me, I am struck by one thing - that many believe they are stuck because of brokenness. There was a time in my life when all I knew was broken – broken family, broken promises, broken will, broken dreams, broken body, broken expectations and a broken heart. What I have learned is that only my brokenness allowed me to see Jesus and only my complete brokenness allowed me to truly see perfection of the cross. I have come to realize that this world is not for anything but brokenness.

And, during this time of my life all I know is how much I am whole, complete and on my way to perfection. Now, that is amazing! How I may have parts of my life that seem “less than perfect”, I have a perfect Savior who loved me before the earth was formed, thought of everything to save me and indwells in me so I will never be alone. I am being perfected by all who is perfect, yesterday, today and tomorrow and that is everything I need.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” ~Philippians 4:4 (New International Version)

Heavenly Father, I come to You and trust in all that You have for me. I trust the obstacles, the challenges and all the blessings that You set before me. I come to You LORD and ask that You guide me, help me to see through Your eyes and know that as I live this life, that my hope is in the next. That as I expect to live greatly because of You being with us through every moment and are only a thought away. Thank You Lord for giving me so much before I even took a breath. I thank You Father for going before me, standing beside me and loving me intimately. In the name of Jesus, I pray and hold onto all Your promises. Amen.

I am grateful for all the moments that I hear my amazing God whisper comfort, promises and hope to me, even during storms, challenged times, obstacles and heartache. He is what sustains me, and it’s only because I truly desire to know what He did for me.

As I sit here seeking Him and allowing the pain to pour out, I am reminded of my Savior on the cross and He took on the sins of the world. My pain Lord is a weight I would rather not bear, but know that You have already beard it. There are no words that can possibly relay the gratitude I have in my heart or the desire that is deeply embedded to please You. Thank You Jesus.

Hopeless, not me. I am hopeful and hope filled!


Even in the physical pain, I know that brokenness leads to wholeness and a storm leads to better days. As He has shared with me so often, I am not broken glass to be swept away, I am His treasure to be upheld and strengthened with every break and repair. Now, that is hope and something amazing to rejoice about.

Day 846 of Giving Thanks

Today, I am much in prayer of thanksgiving for many things. As I settle into the evening, I am greatly aware of my surroundings - the quite, the calm and the rejoicing in my heart.

“God holds me head and shoulders above all who try to pull me down. I'm headed for his place to offer anthems that will raise the roof! Already I'm singing God-songs; I'm making music to God.” ~Psalm 27:6 (The Message)

It truly has been an amazing 846 days of giving thanks to the LORD and getting to know who I am. I would not know who I am if I didn’t understand what He did. I believe we cannot fully understand God's grace until we fully understand what Jesus did on the cross. Knowing that we have one God who Created us, God the Father, God who provided for our salvation in Jesus our Redeemer and God who is with us through everything in our life as our helper, teacher and counselor the Holy Spirit.

“In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” ~2 Peter 1:5-8 (New Living Translation)

I am sincerely grateful for His amazing works. Yesterday was a day of “need”. Need for prayer, need for comfort, need for His presence. I am truly fortunate to have wonderful friends. My friend Trena and I sat on the floor after work and she poured out prayers of healing and hope. I had allowed the weight of the past weeks to penetrate my heart, to encircle my thoughts, so I knew that only the power of prayer would do. And, one more time would I be lifted in prayer. As I closed my eyes to rest, I knew that my Healer’s hands wrap me securely.

Tonight as I get ready to rest, I come to my heavenly Father in complete awe. Mighty and gracious God, thank You for giving me growth and comfort through knowing You. As I remember You daily, I am often amazed at how much You love me. It is in the love I receive from so many, the blessings of new friends and surprises that occur within so many moments. It is in the relief of this and that, and mostly it’s in the newness of every day. Father, all I want to do is please You and share all that You do for me. Let me be a conduit and a beacon for those who desire to know Your promises. Help me to shine brightly hope for those who need You, yet have not seen You. In the process of my every days, help me to be more understanding of others, see things through eyes of compassion and listen intently to those who just want to be heard. Draw me closer to You in whatever it takes, and remind me that this journey is to make me stronger, because I come to You more. For it is because of Jesus I am so grateful and through Him I bring all my needs, desires and accomplishments before You. Amen.

Never Been Unloved

Since I can remember I have struggled with believing I could be loved. The sexual, physical, and emotional abuse left a scar on my soul and an empty hole in my heart. Trying to fill that hole with unhealthy coping mechanisms only deepened my lack of love and respect for myself. It wasn't until August of 2010 that I began to seek healing for the abuse that was done to me and the abuse I did to myself and others. Despite my efforts to learn new coping strategies I struggled to believe, truly believe, that I can be loved. One year later, I attended a Celebrate Recovery summit at Saddleback Church in California. On the last day of the event; small note cards where handed to each of us. We were to write on that card something we were in denial about. I was told by my therapist that God loves me. I just couldn't seem to internalize that. So I wrote on that card, “I'm Lovable!” 

Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: 
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

We were instructed to nail our card to the cross to symbolize the act of giving our hurt to God. It took me a while but I eventually made it to that cross. I was handed the heaviest hammer I have ever felt in my life! I nailed that card to the cross and once I began hammering I couldn't stop. I nailed that long nail almost all the way through. Tears of joy streamed down my face! For the first time in my life I said, “I am lovable!” And I believed it!!!

Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

I will never forget that day when I released that burden to God. Everyday I can say to myself that I am lovable! And I can mean it because God says it is true! It brings me such joy to know that I have a Father who loves me more than anyone could. He knows my innermost being, he knows the days of my life, he knows the number of hairs on me head, he knows all my defects, he knows what is in my heart; and he still loves me. For those of us who have been abused; believing we are worthy of love is one of the toughest things to accept.

The text of Matthew 5 (NIV) states as follows:
-Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Verse 3)
-Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land. (Verse 4)
-Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted. (Verse 5)
-Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill. (Verse 6)
-Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Verse 7)
-Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God. (Verse 8)
-Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Verse 9)
-Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Verse 10)

Letting go of the lie is difficult, but you must allow your heart to follow truth! Let God be the lover of your soul. He wants to fill that empty hole in your heart. Let Him heal your scars. Coming out of denial is the first step to healing. Tell God the depths of your hurt and sorrow. Let him know that you no longer want that burden anymore! Because of His love I can be reasonably happy in this life which gives me the hope that I will be supremely happy in the next! Give it up and know that you have never been unloved! -

Day 845 of Giving Thanks

God, You are truly what I needed... then, today and tomorrow. Thank You for being here for me. Thank You for knowing that I would need you, and would be with You.

Praying for the floodgates of the LORD to be upon you during this time. That the power of the Holy Spirit will open me up to so much during this time. Let the LORD know you desire His presence. Let the blessings of the LORD be revealed. Whatever time you are in I pray the same for you. In the Lord Jesus may my faith be vastly increased. Amen.

“But me, I'm not giving up. I'm sticking around to see what God will do. I'm waiting for God to make things right. I'm counting on God to listen to me.” Micah 7:7 (The Message)

Wishing that I could just sit and cry for a while, but instead, I praise You Lord and I am comforted through this time of no emotion, no tears. As I grieve, I know that it is all a process, that there are several stages of grief, it is during this time that I feel greatly protected, amazingly blessed to know that I have a beautiful Savior who loves me so intensely and in ways that I will never understand or comprehend. Thank You Father for Your mercy. Amen.

It is during this time that I am grateful to know that Jesus can do what no one else can do. He heals, comforts and consoles every part of me. He brings all the messes of this life into focus for the next. This is my journey, one that I would not trade. He ministers in perfect ways, as we go through these imperfect days. He ministers to direct us toward our heavenly home,

I see others move through their days and know that they don’t see You as I do. My heart aches, and my prayer is that truth will be received and lived. But I am assured greatly as I rest in Him and grow daily. I am assured greatly as I seek Him diligently and trust Him wholly. 

"Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’" ~Matthew 7:22-24 (New International Version)

There are so many doing things in the name of the Lord, but are doing them in the ways of the world. Let us be diligently seeking the guide of the Holy Spirit and doing things according to His will and in obedience.

Grace makes obedience possible.

"This is what the LORD says:
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the LORD." ~Jeremiah 9:23-24 (New International Version)

All things come from and through the Holy Spirit! My joy, my hope, my comfort and consoler - my everything!

Day 844 of Giving Thanks By Tina Wetor

As I stood on the side of the road, I couldn't believe what just happened. Did it really happen? As the shock started to overcome me, I couldn't grasp the reality until I saw her head on the steering wheel. Is she hurt? Or is she dead? As I walked over to the car, I urgently prayed, "Lord, I pray she is ok!" As I approarched the car, I pulled the car door open, "Honey, are you ok?" "I don't care about anything else, are you ok?" As she looked up at me, she said she was fine.  As our eyes met, she said "Are you ok?" I reassurred her I was fine.

As we stood on the side of the road, we didn't attack each other. If anything we comforted each other with compassion, spoke peace, and offered to get assistance for the other. As we shared information, we waited for the police and our husbands to come. As we waited, we loving tried to make sure the person was comfortable. Maybe it's because we are both mothers who naturally try to nurture the hurting. Yet, in the midst of the wreck, Christ shown in all His glory. Compassion reached out to the hurting instead of inflicing pain upon due to an unseen circumstance. We have a decision in our circumstances: to show love or anger. If I walked in anger, I could have caused greater damage to a broken spirit. By walking in love, I was able to bring peace. God is just AWESOME!

Life will have moments of interruptions, unexpected circumstances, and moments to shake one's faith. Yet, if our lives are anchored in Christ, nothing can move us. We have those divine opportunites to show compassion, extend a hand, and love. Christ was interrupted on several occassions whether in teaching or his journeys to touch the broken and oppressed. It was His mission upon earth, so it must be ours.

The following day after the accident, I had to report it to my insurance agent. She asked, "Was anyone hurt or need to be transported to the hospital?" I advised, "No one was injured." She asked, "How can you be sure?" I responded, "Before I contacted you, I called her." The insurance agent was completely shocked, "YOU contacted her?" "Yes, I did." The agent asked, "Do you know her?" "No, I never met until the accident." During my errands the following day, this stranger was the center of my mind. So, I had to get peace, I needed to know if she was fine.

It was an unusual circumstance, a moment to show compassion to someone else whether I was the cause or not. Did it really matter? Sometimes the circumstance of life apprear to make us reflect on what's important-we are alive. We are here to show the love of God regardless of what life brings, we can have the peace admits the storm.

As Christians, our lives need to bring peace to others. We are to walk with the shoes of peace, it's what we need to wear not only for spiritual warfare but in our walk. Christ is the only One who can bring peace in the storm. If you find me dancing, singing, and rejoicing it's because I am happy to be alive. Also, I belong to Christ who is my peace. When we realize that love isn't an emotion it's action, we will change someone's life.

"Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;
love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails...But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love." ~1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13
