Day 385 of Giving Thanks

During this time of my journey, I realize that feelings can change in an instant. Someone in your life has told you that too. The example of “if you had the winning lottery numbers and held the winning ticket in your hand, how would you respond,” comes to mind.

This year, the lessons have been lessons of mindset, most of all. Setting my mind on the things above, seeking God, knowing that He is here and always waiting for me to "call unto Him" is assurance. He has already given me the greatest gift... and I already “accepted” it, what more could I want?

What I know is this…. The best gift ever offered, is unseen, cannot be touched, but has been given with the greatest sacrifice ever and I have it.

What does all this mean?
Jesus’ work is already complete, “it is finished” and all of us can benefit from His sacrifice. “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” ~John 19:30

Heaven awaits – but there is a steep price to get in – are you ready to live a life of perfection, every day without sin? But there is a leap before that, and that is you have to know that sin exists. That evil resides and we get sucked in. It wasn’t a switch for me, but for some it is. Our flesh desires things and is programmed to sin.  So, we can opt to work on being perfect, and fall short, or accept the great gift ever offered.

To accept His work as complete, you have to know that you need it. God worked on my heart – not through a breaking point, but because I was just ready - He pursued me year after year, illness through to joy.  If it is time, you will know in your heart. If it is time, and you are not aware, He will do what is necessary to get you there, but it is up to you to respond. We do have a choice, but our mighty creator loves us so much that he will pursue you, and pursue you, and pursue you.

He loves me so much - and wants nothing more than to have me know Him, and be in His presence and realize His daily blessings for me. My outcome is perfect by knowing that.

It's time to go from "feeling" to "EXPERIENCING" what HE has for me. How about you? Are you in?

“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” - John 6:35

  1. I was just reading from Ann Voskamp's book "One Thousand Gifts". In chapter two she makes a profound statement "Gratitude, the giving of thanks precedes the miracle". She gives several examples from scripture - Jesus feeding the 5,000, raising Lazarus from the dead - each of these miracles was preceded by Jesus giving thanks. What a perfect reminder as we are in search of miracles in our lives today. Gratitude precedes my miracle.
